:worried: Can anyone help to cut a long story short we have had trouble with travel agent and can't get a consistent answer to any question. We are flying from orlando to london with virgin then have flight with ba from london to glasgow. We were originally told our luggauge would be checked right through but now this is sounding like it is not going to happen. The problem is with Virgin we have luggage allowance for 2x 32 k don't know what BA is but sure it will not be the same. Has anyone been in this postion before and if so were they charged for excess luggage? :confused3
Thanks

If the whole trip has been ticketed by the same operator there shouldn't be a problem. We always fly Belfast-Gatwick-Orlando and return the same way. We book through Virgin Holidays and the regional connections (FlyBe) have always honoured the baggage allowance regardless of size and we have never paid any excess baggage charges. However, if you booked your connections separately, then you may find different rules apply! Check with whoever you booked with to start off. Good luck whatever way it turns out for you! :thumbsup2

Last year I flew, edinburgh-gatwick-orlando and return domestic flights booked seperate with BA, international flight booked seperate with Virgin, when i checked in a downtown disney for my return flight the virgin rep booked my luggage right through despite it being a seperate booking at london i had to check in for my onward flight but informed them the baggage which was 2x 32kg (over the normal allowance for a domestic flight) was already booked through, there was no problem at all and i never had to pick up my cases until edinburgh, hope this helps you, the only thing i would say is this was june 2005 i have no idea if it's changed in light of recent terrorist scares. :wizard:

Yes, they should base the luggage allowance on the long-haul flight, to the best of my knowledge.
