Connecting dining reservation to vacation pkg

I booked a trip last Sept for a Nov trip and I changed the reservations 3 times bc I kept finding a better deal. We are going again this Nov and staying on property with the dining plan (like last time). But, I have already booked flights and have been looking at prices for Disney property. I want to go ahead and book now just to ensure we have a room, but I know I may find better deals closer to the time we go and may cancel these reservations.

My dining question is this...My 180 day window opens next week. If I book dining reservations that are tied to a room reservation now and I end up changing my room reservation, how would that work? Would I be better off NOT attaching the room reservation to the dining reservation now?

Also, I saw on a post here that you can see what dining reservations are open, but I can't find it on the web site. Does anyone know where I can find that information when my window opens next week?

Thx!

I'm not sure about linking your dining reservations, I would book a room however so you can take advantage of the 180+10 rule. I don't think that if you cancled your room and rebooked somewhere else that your ADR's would be affected. I know if you cancle your trip completely you need to also cancel you ADR's individually.

When you go to the dining site choose the date and enter the # of people then choose a meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) and then check the box for restaurants participating in the dining plan and choose no preference then click search (or find, I forget what it says exactly) and you will get a list of all open reservation choices for the meal you have selected. Does that make sense? hope this helped!

The dining reservations aren't really tied to your package reservation. You only need to enter the reservation number to access the 180 + 10 day window. Last year I made the ADRs under one reservation number, then took advantage of a different deal that came later, and re-booked. All of the ADRs remained unchanged. On the only thing I'm not sure what would happen is if you've linked a pre-paid meal (like CRT) to the dining package and then changed/cancelled.

Thanks for the help. Sounds like I will go ahead and book reservation at WL, make dining plans for 180+10 and just not link the CRT reservation to that since you prepay for that one.
