Conjoining Rooms??

interesting

i had booked a standard boardwalk room and then a few days later booked a waterview room for my parents

then decided it would be great for my 2 yr old daughter to have connecting rooms, so called and asked for connecting waterview rooms. and made it clear that if connecting rooms are not available i did not want to upgrade to waterview

was assured of connecting rooms and made the upgrade to waterview at a cost of $300+

i will be steaming if we get there and no connecting rooms available

Did you upgrade your reservation to waterview and then ask it to connect to your parents separate waterview room/reservation? I can't vouche for the CM (whether they meant connecting rooms are available in that view or for your res), but that wouldn't be a guaranteed connection. It's not typically a problem regardless.

Nope. Upgraded to waterview after the CM told me we would have connecting rooms

No, I understand that you changed your standard room to a waterview.

I was asking if you were looking to connect your now waterview room with your parents previously booked waterview room.

Yes, that was the only reason for upgrading to waterview. And the CM said connecting rooms would not be a problem.

Hopefully they would. But then the OP also needs to be aware the adults would be told that one has to sleep in each room. They will not allow the children to occupy a room without an adult.

When people insist that connecting rooms are guaranteed I like to point out that even the bookable categories are not guaranteed. Something I have experienced first hand. Twice. If Disney will not guarantee something a guest has to pay for, what would leave you to bet that they would guarantee something that makes them no money?

Nothing is guaranteed, except you will get a room(s) at a Disney resort. Everything else is subject to availability.

bolding is mine....
not exactly true....
special reservations can and doesmake room guarantees. They have the capability to block room(s) out of inventory that 'regular' reservations can't. So to say Nothing is guaranteed is a false statement because under special conditions (medical) Disney does guarantee it. I have previously had it in writing! It was a Need not a Want!
2 adults with 4 kids do not Need connecting rooms. I do NOT blame them for wanting connecting rooms BUT it is not a neccesity. The adults could split up if they don't get connecting rooms. When My friend traveled solo with 4 kids she was guaranteed connecting rooms since she was the only adult BUT she was advised that if there was a problem with putting her in connecting rooms at her 'appointed' resort, they would have to move her to where there was availability. So she understood she had to be willing to be flexible in the event she couldn't get what she needed at POP ( i.e. she might end up at an All Stars). So say what you will about the single adult with more than 3 kids in a value room. I know differently first hand.

You are right. But that is not done through the typical channels. There is a separate division that handles medical needs. And it doesn't seem that anyone on this thread has booked through them.

Any, as you say "regular" reservation only guarantees you a room. Nothing else is guaranteed.
