I'm thinking about requesting a room at Congress Park so we have a view of Downtown Disney. Do all rooms in Congress Park have a view of Downtown Disney or do some face the opposite direction and you end up with a view of the parking lot?

thanks!

Unfortunately not all views face DTD. Now that would be magical. :wizard:

I've read other TR's where room numbers with great views are shared on this site. Check around. :)

One time I counted the balconies that faced the bus stop at Congress Park. I think maybe 12 per building face out to the lot.

It is also possible to have a courtyard view or pool view at Congress Park also. Those views will give you less of a view of DTD, but we still love them. As long as I am in Congress Park, Im usually happy, but I have not gotten the bus stop view yet.

boy didn't think the bus stop view was possible. the balcony face away from it.

got a studio at Congress park with an excellent view of DTD and pool. hoping to get the 1-bedroom in Sept.

We had a first floor balcony that faced the bus stop. It wasn't really a big thing to us at the time, we enjoyed the DTD view from the pool.

All SSR buildings have rooms facing out from 3 sides of the building. 8 2-br lock-outs are on one end, and 4 2-br lock-outs and 4 2-br dedicated are on the other.
In Congress Park, the front of the building and one end will generally face DTD, but the other end will not. The end that doesn't face DTD may have a parking lot/woods/garden view.

This is the view from the room we have gotten two of three stays at SSR. it is overlooking the CP bus stop and parking lot.

Yep! We love the Congress Park pool area:lovestruc
And being so close to DTD Marketplace.

I think alot of thought was put into the views at SSR. Very few units have bad views. They angled the bldgs so you would be looking at something nice, even if it is distant.

BCV Epcot view is like that too. If you look down, you see the road. But the distant view is really nice. Most people will take a photo of their Epcot view and never mention the road being so close.

We just spent the last 2 nights @ Saratoga. Congress Park, we were in room 1114. This was a ground floor 1 brdrm. Our view was of the woods were the path is. If you were outside on the patio & looked right we had a view of the Rain Forrest Cafe. This was our 1st stay @ this resort. I've been home for 4 hrs & already missing Disney:sad2:

I always request building 16 with a view of DTD. Two years in a row I've received the same room; just different floors. We overlook the quiet pool with DTD in the background. I've got my fingers crossed I get that same location in October when I'm at SSR. The room numbers for anyone interested are 1645 and 1745, second and third floors respectively. Oh and it's a 1BR.

thanks MS wdw.

boy didn't look at the resort that closely when I was there. had studio 1747 - it had a very nice view of DTD. but there was not a room across from it - a closet I think?

it was next to the steps so despite being on the 4th floor - getting back and forth to the buses was easy - just down the steps and across.

gee so over half the SSR views can be of the parking lot and other things not as nice.

Spicey, don't fret:goodvibes I don't think it is anywhere near half. Any view you have from at Congress Park that faces the pool, courtyard or DTD, are extremely nice views. There are units on the ends of each bldg that face the side (they placed courtyards between each bldg) and a few have rear facing balconies so you will see the lot from those.

We really love Congress Park and have stayed there on every trip to SSR except our Girls trip we stayed in the Springs and had a really nice view of the lake and fountain.
The views are gorgeous. I actually like the courtyard views in Con Park, because of the layered landscaping and animals and you can still get the warm glow of lights and hear the music from DTD while you are sitting out.

I think overall, that SSR offers some of the nicest views and has plenty of them so better view opportunities than the other ones offer.

If I dont have a guaranteed view somewhere else, I'd much rather take my chances at SSR. More to choose from.

thanks MS wdw.

I'm trying to visualize myself coming up the steps from the pool :cool1: so I can explain where 1745 is. I believe my room would be next to your's; not across from it. Somehow I'm drawing a blank; yep. Must be time for a trip to SSR!!! :dance3:

i wish i could recall the room# we stayed in when we stayed at the congress park building in '06 but we had an AWESOME view of DTD!! it was nice cause MIL came along and we really impressed her with the views :thumbsup2 ours was a 2bd dedicated on the top floor

I got a bus stop view in Congress Park the very first time I stayed at SSR. There was also a pond with a fountain in it, so at least there was something pretty to look at. The next time I stayed there, I got a Downtown Disney view and it was lovely.

We've only stayed at SSR once and we had a first floor one-bedroom unit at CP that faced the bus stop. We actually liked knowing if we missed the bus! Maybe next time we'll have a nicer view though!

Spicey: There are 46 units per building. Generally, only the units on one end of a building (8 units) could have a less desirable view. And even then it's more likely to be garden or woods than parking lot.
