I just posted a question on how to activate military tickets. We qualify for them and they were bought honestly and fairly. They would be activated honestly and fairly. I was not asking to circumvent any rules and yet the thread was closed? I don’t understand.

I think when you say "civilian" that it seems like a non military person as opposed to a Civilian Federal Employee who works for the Military and would qualify as Military.

Hello! My Dad was able to get us the military annual passes for Universal for our trip in November. However, my daughter and I are now going to be in Orlando in a few weeks. My Dad won’t be there. Would a friend of mine who is a civilian but qualifies for the tickets be able to activate them? They don’t seem to have my Dad’s name on them anywhere..

You must show Military ID. The AP's will have some type of military language on them. Military discounts are different from Civilian Federal Employee, so your friend's ID will not work.

If your friend is retired or a veteran they need to accompany you, not just show up and show an ID.

I’m a DoD employee and just came back from a big family trip. All the tickets I got through the ITT in the base I work at. I went without everyone to guest services and exchanged the vouchers for actual tickets. I showed my ID then and that was it. I gave everyone their tickets individually after that. We had an odd situation in that we had ok dpromotional tickets from a cancelled 2020 trip due to the closures plus currently Freedom Passes so my time at guest services was a bit longer than normal to get it all sorted out. The ticket office on base helped me coordinate all that before leaving. According to my ticket office, DoD employees are eligible for the tickets but no other discounts but I never really asked. Just wanted to tickets.

You purchased Military AP's which have their own rules.
You need to have Dad go along with you.
No matter how you ask the answer stays the same, military ID can only activate military tickets, AP's, resort stays etc.

If only that easy. My Dad has called and explained the situation and he is not getting a clear answer at all. So thinking we will go with the tickets, explain the situation with guest services and if he has to be the one to activate, will just buy a regular ticket there and he can activate the military ticket in November when he will be with us. I was just trying to plan ahead and not waste time, if I couldn’t activate them.

Did you have to show anything stating that you were the original purchaser of the tickets? Or did you just have the voucher and your ID?

I just showed my vouchers and ID but I think they had said one of the tickets had to be in my name for it to all work (this was before we left). I didn't need the rest of the group there.

Ok thank you! My friend will have her ticket with her name and she has her ID so we shall see! If I had only known this was how things were going to go, I would have had her buy our tickets instead of my Dad.

I just got back, I was the only one with an ID in my group. I checked with the ticket office before we left and they even emailed their main POC at Universal to confirm it all. I used the military promotion tickets from 2020 AND freedom passes. They had me keep the email just in case but I had no issues needing anyone else to have an ID. It was actually just my husband and myself and we had 6 2020 tickets and 3 freedom passes. It's actually just a voucher. The tickets they give you just has to be linked to one single person.

Military passes work differently from Florida resident passes. Each eligible military member may purchase 6 Freedom Passes per year. The point is to make vacationing affordable for military members, which would be defeated if everyone else in the party had to pay full price (since most military households only have one service member). The military member must be there to activate passes for civilian friends/family, so the passes can’t simply be purchased by the military member and gifted to others. It seems that OP will be vacationing with eligible military personnel (friend soon and father later), so his/her pass is in keeping with the terms of use.
