Could someone please explain to me how this board works? How the rental process works and anyones experiences and whether or not you think its a safe option to getting the few extra points i'm going to need for my next trip. TIA!

If you are a DVC member and you only need a few extra points for a trip, you can "buy" them from DVC for a fee. This would put your mind at ease about trying to rent points, since you are not actually renting points from someone, but renting a reservation.

They could do a deal to transfer points.

I do not think the OP is a DVC member,. I think she is looking for some info & guidance on how to rent a reservation from a DVC member.

If it's only a few points, I don't know that anyone would use up their transfer for a "few extra points." If it's 24 or less, doesn't DVC sell them to you, once per year, for $15/point?

Just to clear up a couple things. I'm a He :) and we are DVC members. I realize I can borrow 24 points from DVC but my issue is that I'm gonna need about 25 more points for the reservation I want to make next year. That is why I asked the question.

You really want a transfer. You'll need to find a member who hasn't used their once a year transfer with the same year as your points (you cannot borrow transferred points but you can bank them). Transferred points keep their resort and UY.
