Confused, just a bit

I read on here that the FD package can be booked for 3 nights and at least a 1 day park ticket, like they had last year. On Disney's sit they list it as a 5night/6 day, 6 day tickets. Can you book only 3 nights? I am already booked for 9 nights, but have been thinking of doing a split stay and didn't know if I had to add a night or could go with what I had? TIA!
