We are going in May, and will arrive at the Poly early in the PM. Assuming we can't check in at that time, how do we take advantage of some of features of being a WDW guest, such as EMH, if we haven't received a Resort ID?
Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You can check in anytime. They will give you your keys and identification and they will give you a phone number to call to find out your room later. And you wont have to return to the front desk to get your keys cause you will already have them.

You can pre-register as early as 8 am. You room won't be ready for you until 3 or 4 depending on the resort, but they will go ahead and issue your room card/tickets and you can leave your luggage and get your parking spot. Then you can use all of the resort benefits, go to the parks, whatever you want to do.

I've pre-registered even earlier -- 7am or so. This allowed me to take advantage of the AM EMH on the day I checked in.

Again, they won't let you into the room that early, but you will get your key-cards which give you admission to the EMH (or whatever), along with a phone number to call later in the day to get your room number.

in June we arrived at PC around 10:30AM we didn't have any special requests. They found us a top floor room right away. Awesome. You never know with Disney magic.

Last May we arrived at BWV at 1030 am . Rm was ready also the best view we have ever had at Disney. Boardwalk view, 4th floor overlokking the grass area buy the boat dock. :wizard:

We went to pre-register Nov 2004 (Pop) @ 9 am and when we got there they had a room ready for us! It was 50's building top floor right on the corner so close to Tramp I could almost touch him!
You never know with Disney Magic--but they let you pre-register anyway--I plan on doing this on my "resort" change extremely early to start my package and get breakfast etc that day (dining plan).

I think being really nice can go far. We have arrived as early as 5 am at the Poly, & they gave us a room. I would not count on that, but it does happen

Lots of things to do at the Poly also. The Torch Lighting Ceremony starts late PM, as well as a luau show and the Poly gives you beachfront seats to the Electic Water Parade, starting about 9pm every night.
