HI DIS friends,

My husband just informed me about a meeting he needs to attend during our disney vacation time.

So now we're considering put off our 12 day vacation to closer to Thanksgiving. Some friends said that Thanksgiving week is great on low on crowds.

But as I read on allears website, that WDW is VERY HIGH attendance during that week.

Can any expert tell me how the crowds are during that week. My husband hates crowds.

Thanks for your input.

We went during Thanksgiving in 2002. From the Saturday before through Tuesday the parks were empty. Wednesday it picked up a bit, and then Thanksgiving day through the weekend after it was packed. We had a great trip though. We expected this to happen, so we made sure to hit all the big attractions in all four parks in those first 4 days, and then did smaller stuff the rest of the week.

Good luck!

We were there last year the week of Thanksgiving. We mistakenly thought we would be o.k. until Tues. NOT!!! Mon and Tues was an absolute madhouse. I will never do that again. On the upside the weather was perfect. Low 70's during the day & not a cloud in sight. Make a list of must sees because you wont be able to do everything that time of year.

Thanksgiving 2003 from the Thursday before until the Monday before and it was empty!! The kids missed only 2 days of school. A lot of the XMas decorations were already up. It was great timing and I would do it again. My neighbor went down the Tues before til Sat after and said it was packed. Good luck.

We were also at the World last Thanksgiving and the crowds did not seem to bad until Thanksgiving afternoon and Thanksgiving weekend. The weather was great, and an incredible amount of the Christmas decorations go up the night before Thanksgiving! I do not know if they do this every year, but we went to MK on Thanksgiving, and because everyone was so excited we ended up being at the gates 1 1/2 hours before opening. They opened the park an hour early and there was almost no one there. We did all of Tommorrow land, Fantasyland, and Liberty Square in that first hour and a half. Everything was a walk on. I have video of us riding Dumbo and you cannot see another living person in Fantasyland. It was awesome!
