Confused about Cash nights at BWV

I have a cash night for a trip, we booked the sun - fri on points and are doing the fri night cash. Currenlty we have a preferred view.

I would like to waitlist for a Boardwalk view (same number of points)
and than if it goes through get the cash night moved to that same view and link it.

MS told me they don't offer cash night for boardwalk view. is that true???

I don't have a discount on the one I currenlty have..

Do they not offer cash nights at all boardwalk view or only not offered with discount??

Should I try to book cash night for both views now and than cancel the reservation of the view we are not using??

I have been told by several CMs that BW view rooms are not available for cash at all because they are limited in number and saved for members staying on points. I think your only hope of getting a BW view room on cash is if, on check-in, they happen to have a last minute cancellation and you can be upgraded at that point.

We have been told that a cash discount is not available for Boardwalk view or for standard view. Yet, a GV is available at a cash discount sometimes, so, that is an exception.

We have a preferred room now for the 5 nights and were able to get a cash night for the friday (no discount but the room is linked to our reservation so we won't have to move )

I think I will keep what we have.. Just thought it would be cool to get the boardwalk view.. Maybe next trip
