Confused about booking through website vs. phone and Magic Mornings for on-site stays

I have searched this forum and tried to read as much as possible on these topics, but I am still confused. Please forgive me!

I called Disney travel today to get separate quotes to compare a package with a room-only and to find out the perks to booking a package. For 3 nights at the PPH room only they quoted $831, but it is $722 on the disneyland website. Both of these prices include taxes. Why is it different when you call?

I also wanted to know the perks of booking a package. The only benefit that we really care about is Magic Morning, which I know we will get if we buy our own 3-day Park Hoppers anywhere. The CM on the phone said that regardless of if you book a package or book room-only, we will only get one Magic Morning during our stay.

I thought that if you stay on-site you can get a MM for every day that you are there when MM is offered. She said NO, only one MM during our stay. Is this correct? Is this something new, or did I misunderstand? I thought that we would get to participate in MM on both the Saturday and Sunday of our stay just because we are staying at a Disney property.

I guess I'm leaning toward booking directly online through the Disneyland website and buying our 3-day Park Hopper tickets where we can get the lowest price. Unless I am missing some huge benefit to booking a package. I don't care that much about lanyards, luggage tags, priority seating or Toontown Morning Madness.

Thank you!

There is no big benefit to booking a package. As far as the MM, uf staying onsite you get it for any day it's available during your stay. WDTC can't advertise this perk, it is strictly through the hotels, so they will always say just one.

If you are staying on-property, you just flash your "key to the magic" (which is your room key -- you can also charge on it) on any of the MM and they let you in.

More than one MM is an "unofficial" perk...none of the CMs on the phone or the paperwork you receive will say anything about it but the CMs at the hotels should tell you about it during check-in.

This is not unusual
I always check the disneyland website and call the phone number.
It's also a good idea to check the major travel websites (Expedia, Travelocity...) for better deals :thumbsup2

Don't forget to price it thru Costco travel. They offer extra perks at usually the same price.

Totally agree that if you are going to book a package through WDT check it out on Costco travel because the price will be the same but Costco Travel has perks right now that include a $20 Disney gift card, free lanyard with pin, and free character meals (valued at $39 adults and $20 children) for each member in the party. It is a great deal.

Thank you everyone! Thanks especially for the tip about Costco Travel. Even though they are advertising the packages for 4 nights or more, I entered in the 3 night stay that we wanted and it was less than booking through Walt Disney Travel or separately from the Disney website.

I can't believe that we got 3 nights at the PPH, our 3-day park hopper tickets plus character meals, $20 gift card and all the other little perks for $100 LESS than booking through Disney!

I really, really appreciate the tip! And for anyone else, these packages can only be booked through tomorrow (10/15).
