I am confused about Alamo Toll Pass charges. I need experienced replies from someone who has been charged by Alamo.

I have talked to 5 different Alamo people with different answers from each one. The last one said that I would be charged $14.95 maximum for my rental period of 13 days.

I will be going to/from the airport on 6 different days and I will be taking a trip to Cocoa Beach also.

So has anyone rented for about two weeks and opted to be charged for the Toll Pass? Did your bill come out to $14.95 from Alamo (plus toll booth charges)?

So when was the last time you rented and where did you rent this car? I have seen fees as low as $10 but not $6.

Here is the current situation:

Alamo participates in the same program that National does---I rented a National car just this past summer, used toll-by-plate two days, and was charged only the $4 plus tolls, just as expected.

Do you still have the option of just paying cash at the tolls with Alamo?

Yes you do. I rented from them in September. I just made sure to get receipts incase there were any issues.

Right---you essentially get to decide based on whether you use the sunpass/electronic lanes or the cash lanes. As long as you don't drive through one of the electronic-only lanes, you will be fine.

I thought I heard they were removing the cash lanes and making it all electronic; is this not so? I would rather pay with cash if that is an option.

From what I have read, at this time the electronic-only road is on the way to Miami. It's not happening on the roll roads around Wdw now. The OP will have to check directions to that specific beach of course.

There were 2 one was a dollar and one was 1.25. And yes i went from the airport to 528

Do you travel to Orlando/Florida a lot? We bought our own Sunpass Transponder and just take it with us when we travel. It is quick and easy to add the rental car to your account from a smartphone. It autoreplenishes on our credit card so it is nice to not worry about tolls when we are driving around Florida.

I use to go to Florida 3-4 times a year. Lately it has only been once a year. I do not own a smart phone. I only use a cell phone when I am in Florida so I have a TracFone. I can't see paying a monthly charge when I only use the cell phone on vacation.

I rented from Alamo for a 14 day period over the summer. The fee was the maximum $14.95 plus tolls - I thought it was a great service and worth it as I was renting for a long period.
