confirming transportation

When do you all confirm your transportation ressies? I am curious about private limo service inparticular (sp?).
I was thinking 2-3 weeks prior. Does that sound right?

I have usually sent them an email about 6-7 days before departure. Just to let them know that my flight times are still the same. I have usually gotten a return email from them letting me know they were all set.
