Confirming reservations

Do you call to confirm you reservations? When do you do it?

I call to confirm EVERYTHING....that's how I learned that my payment didn't arrive as scheduled...took a month and 3 days for them to receive and credit my payment
I would call at a MINIMUM of one week out for hotel reservations....its only a phone call....and could save a ton of aggravation...in case...something is amiss.......
Just my opinion tho!!!
