I checked and kept refreshing and no AP post came up on the site. Maybe they were but changed their minds.I forgot to check and see if they are offering any pass holder or DVC discounts. I just got caught up in the new bling, lol!
And there are date windows for when you need to COMPLETE each event, via the information page - which is hilarious, as each event explicitly says that "proof of run completion is not required" or something similar.
Medals, bibs, a tumbler (for the series) and a portion goes to charity.$142 for the series!! Holy cow! What does that money go to?? They're not paying for any city permits, no porta potties, no aid stations, no food or drink or entertainment. Those medals better be gold plated.
dang active...Medals, bibs, a tumbler (for the series) and a portion goes to charity.
ALSO - since these registrations are through Active.com, you'll need to pay extra fees for that as well.
Wondering that as well - what percentage goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society? On the fence about participating. I want to know where the $142 goes before I jump in with both running shoes.

Yeah, I don't really understand the conceit of saying this is for running 5Ks when it explicitly says "Proof of run not required" as the secondary bullet point for all of the run descriptions. It almost seems like they are using it as a selling point.
Oh well, the medals look nice and I am hoping it does some good for charity but it's not for me.
"The runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS), an organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancers."If it only lines Mr. Mouse's pockets then I'll probably not participate.![]()
The majority of virtual races out there don't require proof. Trying to organize that is a nightmare. I tried once. It wasn't worth it. Which is probably why most of them just take you for your word. And this one is only for 5ks. So anyone who was going to fudge it or find a way to "prove" it could have done so easily anyway, which makes it pointless.
Proof would ONLY be helpful if they were doing awards as well. But since they will only be offering the same medals to everyone, there is absolutely no need for proof.
