I'm guessing it will be similar to a kids race medal since it will be Mickey according to that photo.rD's 5k medals are pretty cheap. Not sure that I would sign up for a v5k through them unless the medal was better, and I'm not a bling guy.

This. I'm sticking with my snap judgement that it seems like a blatant money grab to me. And SO MANY EYEROLLS on the written description that was screenshotted from the AP site!Still nope for me, that money goes to running a real run Disney race & vacation. Of course, I did just check the AP site but it's not back on there yet. I mean, I get it if Disney offers it, easy money for the Mouse. Maybe though if it was like $5 but I don't see that, maybe it will be for a charity?!?! Curious though...
Does it seem a BIT weird that you get a "real metal" medal for a virtual 5K and a plastic one for the 5K you get up at 4am for??looks like real medals not the plastic on the blog article http://www.rundisney.com/blog/
YES! My BFF just hilariously pointed this out via text message.Does it seem a BIT weird that you get a "real metal" medal for a virtual 5K and a plastic one for the 5K you get up at 4am for??![]()
$39 for individual eventsAnybody know the cost?
So I pay $65-70 for a 5k at Disney and get a rubber medal but pay $39 for a 5K I run at home and get an actual medal. Something doesn't seem right here.$39 for individual events
$142 for the series

That is true. I am thinking about it but don't know if I want to pull the trigger. In this case, you are basically just paying for the medal and not all the costs associated with running a real race.
I signed up as soon as I saw the post on facebook. I forgot to check and see if they are offering any pass holder or DVC discounts. I just got caught up in the new bling, lol!
No reason for them to limit it. There are date restrictions for each event - windows where you need to complete registration between this date and that date.Do you think they'll limit these or just keep selling??![]()
