Confirmed MSEP to stop and move to DL Oct. 9th

It is far from impossible.
They brought back MSEP and used the "rebirth" as a marketing carrot.

On my last trip I heard a rumor that when Disneyland gets MSEP Disney World will get PTN, so basically they'll just be switching locations. Is there any truth to that rumor?

We ate lunch at the Prime Time Cafe on Saturday and talked about the parades with our server. She said that once MSEP is done at Disneyland, it is going to the parade graveyard. She then said we should be glad, as Magic Kingdom may get a Paint the Night parade eventually. When I told her I'd seen it and didn't like it, she set the bill down and left in protest. Take that as you will; CM do not always have correct information. We are hoping MSEP comes back but not expecting it to, so we were glad to have a chance to see it Saturday. The MSEP is my second favorite regular thing to do/see at WDW, after Fantasmic!; its disappearance is just one more reason to not buy an AP.

MSEP is 40+ years old. It's time for it to go to the parade graveyard.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it Many people's opinion is MSEP should stay- out of nostalgia, preferring it over other night parades, or both. Old age alone doesn't warrant replacing something, though some people do enjoy PnT better and for that reason want MSEP to leave so maybe PnT can come. Many attractions at MK date to the 70's or 80's but are still popular, and there's no reason to change or replace them.

Look I like the parade and watch it every time I go but as Walt and Marty Sklar have said Disney parks are not museums and should not be treated as such. Disney has shown they can do amazing parades with Tokyo Dreamlights and paint the night so why not ask Disney for a brand new parade for WDW instead of having an old on come back. Yes many attractions have been in WDW since the beginning but they have been, updated, upgraded, and plus see over time.

I'm glad that we will get to see MSEP before it leaves. It was a part of my childhood and now it will be a part of my daughter's.

But I do hope they bring a new nighttime parade in.

WDW is really pushing night-time entertainment at the other parks. I wouldn't be surprised if the executives feel that Rivers of Light is a suitable "replacement" for MSEP.

I don't get why everyone says Spectromagic can't come back because it was scrapped ............. they could build another one, same basic floats, same music ......... and call it Spectromagic. The MSEP is not the original.

There is a inside information and there is published information and for a couple of months now they have not been in sync. The published information is carefully worded. There is no for sure answer either way. We just have to wait and see what will finally happen.

I agree. The official comments regarding the future of PtN were loaded with qualifiers such as there were no plans to move the parade "at this time", and that the future plans for PtN would be announced at a later date.

Yes, I think we've cross posted before. WDW CMs were told PtN is coming to MK, and I believe it expanded across property. There are even items already backstage related to it, why? From what I heard it sounded like DL was caught quite off-guard by the higher ups plan and raised a HUGE stink. I think that's why they got those special holiday showings of the parade and we all got the fuzzy PR releases. Hoping we hear something solid by the end of the year. It would make sense for them to announce it and let DL folks know to go see while you can like we did with MSEP.

With the time tables it made sense to use these months to rehab both parades as needed so they are ready to roll after the holidays. So PtN is newer, but closed earlier and that might match with above article that the weight of costumes etc need changes, not just cleaning. I could see DL holiday showings be post rehab and then it still be sent elsewhere.

But as in all things Disney, it isn't happening even with announcements until it's actually happening. With the stink they caused .... and I don't know what they'll do with two parades ..... who knows what will happen. PtN coming anyway, build a second (US) PtN for WDW, rebuild Spectromagi 2.0, create something all new .... the only thing I will bet on is that WDW will get something.

From what I understand PTN was going to come to WDW at one point but that has changed and WDW is getting nothing.

Even when MSEP ends its run at DL it's staying their or finally being retired. MSEP is getting a much needed refurb when it arrives and DL is paying for it. DL isn't going to just let WDW take it back after paying to fix it.

No need to get angry. Hong Kong definitely matters in the big picture of things.

You believe what you want to and I'll believe what I want to. From what I have heard and believe MK will not have a night parade for a while meaning well into 2017.

They still have fireworks so they won't be shutting down early.

I'm just reporting what I've heard. I have sources on both sides saying both things but right now I have more sources saying no night parade at MK.

WDW needs PTN. It's an awesome parade that blows away MSEP. It's exactly what WDW needs.
