Confirmed MSEP to stop and move to DL Oct. 9th

What, exactly, happened to SpectroMagic? I know they put bits and pieces into pins, my dad was able to buy almost the complete set for me for $5 at a garage sale, but what about everything else? Wouldn't it be easy for them to refurb that and bring it back temporarily?

Well don't know for sure if it was sold as scrap but it was indeed too damaged to be saved. At that point they trashed it and and it lives in an area landfill now.

Thanks for the info! Kind of disheartening. Then again, when my mom worked for the Disney stores in the late '90's, they would be forced to break damaged snow globes and knick knacks, so, it's not surprising.

If you want to go see a light parade on the east coast head to Dollywood for Christmas. Basically, Dolly Parton can drop $2.5 million on a parade by Disney can't replace MSEP:

Money has already been allotted for a new nighttime parade for Magic Kingdom. The problem is, it's not a priority currently with management.

What do you mean? Paint the night will run on select nights through the rest of the year at Disneyland.

I'm not sure, but I assume @LINZ-MCKINZ was referring to the fact that when you search for Paint the Night on the Disneyland website, there are no hits for the actual parade

For me and my family it is a huge dissapointment. we are going on the 1st week of November and we will not be able to see the msep ever agian. This is very odd and i am sure will affect attendance

I really don't think people cancelled trips en masse because there's no nighttime parade three nights a week at MK. I really don't.

I think it might not affect attendance as much as you think. Sure some die hards like us might not go but there won't be large waves that stop going.

Well... for me MSEP was a very very magical feature on the park. It wont be the same... the park will feel like its missing something imo..

Well, if the PTN refurb rumors are true, Paint the Night will remain at Disneyland for quite a while, which probably means that once they are done with the PTN rehab, the Magic Kingdom will get MSEP back. At least until they come up with a new nighttime parade for MK, I suppose.

Not for everyone.

We've had lengthy 2 week vacations at WDW for the last 8 years and never once watched MSEP. Just not interested enough to stake out a spot and/or fight with all the unruly people. We wouldn't mind watching, nothing against the parade, but not nearly enough interest to fight the crowds. For the most part the parades are an inconvenience to us when trying to navigate the park at parade time.

I'm sure there are lots of people that share your opinion as well, but most aren't going to not go because there is no parade. Wishes I believe is a bigger draw than MSEP.
