DS17 will be confirmed next month (we're Catholic) and has asked DS21 to be his sponsor! I'd like DS17 to give him a small gift as a thank you, but don't have any ideas. DS21 gave his sposor a Willow Tree Friendship figurine, but his sponsor was female, so won't work in this case. I don't want anything too religious since DS21 received lots of Saint medals, crosses, etc. for his confirmation. Any ideas?

Also, should DS21 give DS17 a seperate gift from the family gift? He's a poor college student, so nothing too expensive. Again, any ideas?

I'm thrilled that my boys feel so close to each other, but I need to coordinate (and pay for) these little extras. Thanks for any suggestions.

my dd14 is being confirmed this year. Honestly, it never dawned on my that we should buy her sponsor anything. I didn't buy my dd16 sponsor anything either.

I've been a Confirmation sponsor a couple of times and have never gotten a gift. I got a nice note from each child thanking me for sponsoring them and loving them etc.

Would DS21 want something like a money clip? Does DS21 do something for a living that DS17 could get something for? For example, if he has business cards, perhaps a business card holder? Perhaos a CD of pictures with captions of the 2 of them growing up through the years...like a slideshow???

Do your 2 DS's do anything special together...fishing, hikling, boating, running??? Maybe something with regard to that???

As far as what DS21 should get DS17...whenever I have been a religious sponsor, I have always gotten the child/young adult I am sponsoring a "nice" crucifix. Not one of those cutesy ones with lambs and stuff on them, but a nice cross that they would be able to hag in their home for their whole life if they so desired. The last child I was a godparent for was Irish, so we got him a pewter Celtic cross.

I was a confirmation sponsor for a good friend's DD. She had gone to France with her French class from high school and brought me back a bracelet. I wasn't expecting anything.

I would say a nice card expressing thanks for helping him through the process would be enough.
