I confess that I hate being ignored, really and truly. Unless I intended to be for whatever, it's just something that drives me absolutely insane.

I confess I probably have the biggest crush on Daniel Radcliffe and then probably anyone here.
Besides Meesh of course.

I confess that I haven't been listening to my Suzuki CDs nearly as often as I should have. And it's pretty important, too. =[

I HATE SUKIZI WITH A PASSION !
no offense i used his books for 3 years aka torture the music isnt bad but i hate the method. it didn't actually teach me how to read notes or any theory

Well, I think the Suzuki method alone isn't supposed to teach reading for at least four books or something like that. IIRC, it was designed with really young kids in mind and is mostly about developing your ear and learning to actually play the instrument quickly. But my teacher used the Suzuki books alongside a note-reading practice book while I was still in Suzuki one, and that worked well, so it's still possible to learn to not read at the same time. But with learning to read, I think that it also helps to have practical experience; for example, playing in an ensemble. In orchestra camp, it was basically you got the music with no fingerings, no hints, and just had to play it right then and there- play or get left behind. So I pretty much had to learn or else, but hey, it worked; one week of being dragged along and I was reading much, much better than before. *Shrugs*

I dunno. Maybe your teacher just went about it a different way.

well the problem was the way it was set up we only did the first boo unless you really really worked at home. and then you hit middleschool and were expected to be able to play in an orchestra type setting.

Oh. So was it a class with several students all learning together? That might have been it... the first book doesn't take long at all to finish besides polishing your technique, but without the individual attention that would have been much harder. =[

And yeah, I guess being in an orchestra setting before the second book would have been pretty hard, because that's still getting the basics covered while orchestra has all sorts of stuff to remember and learn that won't make sense at all with only the first book stuff covered.

yeah well i guess i turned out ok im in high school orch and doing great so live and learn
