Confessions of the Resort Changers

I must confess - I am a resort changer. I think it's an addiction or just a quest for perfection. What is that anyway.

First booked Poly concierge, 7days. Then switched to Poly GV 3 nights, Poly CL 4 nights. Next move - cancel Poly GV and book GF. Still going - cancel GF and book CR GV. One last and hopefully final cancel CR and book BW. Although I may upgrade BW to CL.

Trying to get the most bang for the buck and still hoping for a Dec. discount to be released late summer. Still have to try and rearrange ADR's.

In addition, two other families are going at the same time. They are not resort hopping. Now I'm just worried about the kids getting along - "no third wwheel syndrome".

All advice welcome.

With 4 months to go I would imangine you will change resorts about 27.4 times and likely end up with what you chose in the first place .

Isn't nice to know you are not the only one afflicted with this malady?

I received an email from one of the online unofficial Disney newsletters...including the new codes for room/package discounts.

Called CRO just for the heck of it...not crazy abt all the money I was spending...and my need I guess just to change something!!

So, to make a long story short...I booked the code ***...got a CY view at WL, paid for dining, and 4 day hoppers with the room discount...$1700...am getting abt $600 back
Considering I made all ADR's....the Honeymoon suite was the same size room, however would like to experience CL someday...didnt think it was worth the price.
Funny thing... this was the original package components I booked in the beginning of all this craziness At the same price!!! Give or take a few bucks!
I have the original room I wanted in the first place....
What will be a hoot is if I get a free upgrade to CL when I get there

Am I the only one that feels this saga is not over yet?

Let's see...looking into my crystal ball....I see you staying at the Poly in a garden view, no a concierge garden view.

It's all good. Just keep me posted so I am not tempted to change any of my ressies!

(Ya see if I stay at the cabins the last night for $200 I could save 54 DVC points for next year...but they are soooo remote...but it is the last night. Or how about the Yacht Club? SAB and proximity to Epcot for $215. That would be cool...but we will all be in the same room...but only for one night. And we couldn't get the dining plan...but I could cancel the 2credit meal @ YSH and still have plenty to eat...but then I would have to get an Epcot ressie during free dining and the start of the F+W fest at this late date...)

ok, so I had to register after reading the heading for this thread. I have already changed my resort booking 4 times...I thought I was all alone in this behavior. My family has threatened an Intervention...first I was booked for wl, then changed to gf (which I have always dreamed of and never imagined I would or could do) then with fear of credit card debt, back to the wl, then in a in a moment of what the heck, back to gf, now lastly, we are split, with one night at por, room only and gf 3 nights...
the dining is a different story, I have changed that so many times I've lost count. Sadly, I feel as if I'm not done. (just don't tell my husband, lol)
I have been reading stuff about construction at the gf....I would not want to spend tons of money to be in a construction zone, disney or not.

Save those DVC points!!! As a future DVC'er...save those points!!!! Well....if I HAD to choose between the cabins and YC for just 1 night...Hmmmm...YC for sure!! If the $ differance is $15!!
Bottom line...save those points!! That could be a mini trip at OKW during the right season!
I cannot change anymore....have to change my siggy...those must be great room discounts...so I realize they just play with the #'s like we do...I may be "paying" for dining now...but in essence....I was before too...but less of it!!!
I may go buy Disney Gift cards and save them for shopping for our trip with my savings!! Otherwise, that $$ will be gone come Aug 31!!!

As Disneybride said, there is no cure. We are functioning resort-change-a-holics. When we have finished changing our own ressies, we change the ressies of others just by suggesting what we may or may not do, would like to do, or have done in the past. If you are truly addicted to change, the simple mentioning of a plan will cause you to pick up the phone, call CRO and at least inquire about the aforementioned changed! I am sure Ktink will check in today to mention a few of her past changes, she is our leader . She has perfected this to a craft and we can only hope that one day we, too will be expert resort changers.

I would say save points and I would say an Epcot resort for the convenience and the pool although I have heard good things about the food and camping fun over at the Fort Wilderness Cabins. I'm not sure how many of you will be traveling but the FW cabins are very large from what I read AND, there is a full kitchen which will solve the problem of where to eat.

Sounds like a plan....only in my dream, the guys are walking around the parks fanning me and the line moves out of the way when I approach...and in the middle of my dream there is someone demanding food on clean plates, oh....it's only the DS's. I remember, alas, that it is only a dream so I, too, say NO to cooking and dishes while on Disney property. I say yes to turn-down Service, table service and room service!

Step away from the phone, repeat, step away from the phone. If you have the telephone in hand, gently place it back on the base and take a deep breath, repeat after me, I can read (your turn) information about dining (your turn) and not change my ADR's (Your turn). Now, go outside and run a few laps around the house breathing in oxygen helps prevent changes.

So now I've done it:

We are now staying at the Beach Club Villas in a 1 br on our last night. I really want to try SAB. I didn't get dining this night, so that saves $110. I canceled Yachtsman Steakhouse and booked Biergarten instead, so no problem stretching credits.

So here's the newest itenerary:

9/22-9/25 Poly Garden view with free dining
9/25-9/29 OKW 2 br with dining
9/29-9/30 Beach Club Villas 1br


But my husband is going to flip out! Well, actually he is Norweigan, so he won't flip out. He'll just give me a disapproving look . I've decided I won't tell him until the day we move to the Beach Club. He's golfing that morning anyway, so I'll pack up while he is gone and call him on his cell phone to tell him we swithched resorts. He can meet us at the pool. I'll have his swim suit and a Frozen cocktail waiting for him. Who wouldn't love that???

I feel better.....but really, you would have too...I changed from sci-fi diner to kona cafe.....

(what I'm not saying is this is exactly the way I had it before a previous change)

now if i can just leave the resort ressie alone..

I've been Dis ing all day. I really have to get things together for our trip on Monday but I made some changes.

Now before I start, let's just say that a resort change I did not make (not that I didn't think about it). I re-arranged my ADR's...totally. I finally got Kona, which I had been trying to get since the beginning. The only ADR I lost was Chef Mickey for lunch on the last day. I found out when I had to be at the resort for ME and it would be much better if we had lunch at Crystal Palace since we will be at MK, that way we can just board the bus to WL and get back by 3:30 bus time. My ADR's look like this now:

Aug. 30 Wolfgang Puck
Aug. 31 Alfredos (Last day for old Alfredo )
Sept 1 Ohana
Sept 2 Boma
Sept 3 Spoodles (a little nervous about this one)
Sept 4 Whispering Canyon
Sept 5 Kona
Sept 6 Mama Melrose (somebody convince me that this is okay )
Sept 7 Le Cellier
Sept 8 Crystal Palace Lunch - (last day )

Mostly days and times changed except for adding Kona. I am very excited and I feel, FINALLY at peace with my decision...... for today anyway

Mic cakey, see what you started???!!! you said Kona and that was all it took. (thanks by the way).
