Confessions of the Resort Changers

I'm going to go out on a limb here and hope that the crabby CM was wrong. AKL is showing NO availability at all, not just w/ free dining. It seems it could be the same process of what was happening a few weeks ago. I dare say that you will be able to get a room here in the next few days. I know it's approaching the deadline but then again it's nearing the 45 day mark where some packages may not be paid in full so that could open up some rooms. Like I said I'm going out on a limb here.

KTink.....I never thought of that! I can't believe the entire resort is sold out during our stay. Last Friday there were rooms in all categories and by Sunday they were all gone. I keep trying to change my room category but they always tell me that nothing at all is available. I'll wait for those people who don't get their payments in on time!

Hope it's a strong limb because I'm out here on it with you. I called three times today, the first call was at 7:00. They keep tryng to push GF (no desire to stay there at all). Every time I call, the CM says, no rooms at AKL and then says "But we do have rooms at GF" (I guess they would have rooms left at GF). I'm thinking that, like you said, maybe it is our destiny. They also said that there were no rooms at the Poly either . How are we supposed to play musical resorts when they won't cooperate . I read a post yesterday about the busses being just fine recently and that the wait was less than 10 minutes most of the time. This may work. I'm just curious as to how the drop of/ pick up will be. If we are on the bus first, we have the longest ride, also, if we are dropped off last---still the longest ride.

On to other things....we're thinking about Pirate/Princess Party . Either that or Universal (shhhh don't tell anyone).

I'm hoping I'm right too but it doesn't appear to be looking very bright. I just called again and of course, nothing. As I said we go to the mountains every year and I'm thinking that I don't want to stay at WL as it is along the same theme as the cabins we stay in. If AKL doesn't open up I'm considering CBR. I don't know about that though because I'm really wanting to try a deluxe resort this trip.

Ya know Ktink, I bet we look back on this and ask ourselves why we were so worried. I bet we have the best time EVER. I know everything is going to be okay and absolutely wonderful.

My Confession for the day......had to call again yesterday to change ADR's now that DH is on board with AKL. Had to call twice. No biggie. Called back 2 more times inquiring about switching my room at AKL, no luck. Only called once today! I figure one of these times I'm bound to get lucky....or they will start blocking my calls.

You are so right! And I feel like the biggest moron ever now! DH called and he is SO excited about WL. Here I've been acting like a spoiled brat because I think the Polynesian is overpriced so nothing will do since AKL is booked too! If you go to the WL FAQ's thread and look at the pictures on the first page.... It's GORGEOUS!! The nightime pic is beautiful and when I sat down to really think about it I feel so stupid that I've gotten this carried away for NO reason what so ever. Now that I'm over my two year old fit throwing I can appreciate the beauty of the WL.

stepdisney....I'm now looking at it as a challenge. And since it's free to call, why not? I'm determined to get what I want, although I'm sure we will be happy with any room type!

Okay, lets play the glad game, especially those of us who were trying change and couldn't. I'll start it off:

I am glad that I can take the monorail from my ADR's at Poly, directly to CR and then boat back to WL.

That is really great news! I'm so happy that your dad is cancer free. We recently found out that my dad's aunt has cancer. She is 73 and her attitude is the best. They say that in itself can be a great thing.

Ktink. I forgot about the WL flat screen, glad about that too. I'm also glad that we can walk to our room after dinner at WCC. AND that I can watch the Water Parade from the beach.

Just wanted to let you know that I read that you need to show up really early for Mickey's backyard BBQ or you won't get food and have to wait on a long line. I read that you need to be there at least 45 minutes early. I think I read it online at allears or here. Not sure, but just thought I would let you know.

nonsmom: Thanks for the tip! We were told when we made it to get there 1/2 hour early, but we'll shoot for 45 minutes. We are going from AK that day so I need to leave plenty of time for travel.
