My name is Missbecca, and I'm a Disney addict. *phew* Feels good to get that off my chest!

Well with that out of the way, Hi! I'm Becca, married to D, Mom to D, L, and V. And I genuinely did not intend for that to rhyme. Awkward… I'm a knitwear designer and fiber artist, and D does contract work for the government. This is us, freezing our Mickey ears off here in the D.C. area:

And the babies with their first pairs of ears in 2012:

I grew up in southern California, about an hour from Disneyland. My summers (and falls, winters, and springs!) were filled with Disney. Oh, it's your birthday? We're going to Disneyland! So you got all A's? We'll pretend we didn't see that C- and go to Disneyland! Family coming in from all over the U.S.? Let's forget the beautiful national parks and sparkling beaches and take them all to Disneyland! You see where I'm going with this? I grew up, and still am a Disney Purist- there was only one Disney and it was Disneyland. As an adult, the love continued to grow as I took my own babies on their first trips and watched my sister walk down the aisle at The Grand Californian last summer. People would constantly ask us why we didn't visit Disney World? It's bigger, they'd say. So much more to see, they'd say. But honestly I NEVER had the desire to go. I'm a California girl, I've got no interest in that nonsense!

Until we moved to the D.C. area, and all of the sudden… I did.

So the Hubs and I talked about it, and it looks like we'll be headed to The World for our families very first trip May 5-10, 2014! We haven't made our reservations yet, but we plan on staying at the Art of Animation in one of the suites. I would have loved to have stayed at the Polynesian resort, but I have to remind myself that this trip is about the kids too, and I know they will be happier in a bigger room and with animation that they are familiar with.

I have been pinning Disney planning stuff like a crazy person- I can't believe all of the planning sites! I'm a big time planner myself, and lists make me happy, so it's all so exciting to me!

Also: we won't be telling the kids until it gets closer. I'm thinking that Easter morning would be perfect. Maybe give each kid a golden egg in their Easter baskets with one of three words: "We're", "Going", and "To", then have them hunt for the one egg with "Disney World!" in it. Anyone have any better ideas? My Husband is equally excited as I, but he works an ungodly amount of hours and just doesn't really have the time to plan things out with me, so I'm kind of taking the reins on this one. We still have to decide whether to drive or to fly- I found an amazing deal on JetBlue that I find hard to pass up, especially when I think of 12 hours in the vehicle. Eeek!

I'm definitely looking forward to sharing my PTR here and watching it become more clear! I'd love any advice that you're willing to share!

I'm taking my granddaughter to Disney May 3-9!!! We're flying because I know it wouldn't be pretty in the car with a 2 1/2 yr old for that long! lol

I had us booked at AoA in a Little Mermaid room, but when the recent discounts came out, I switched to Sports and added the dining plan for only $40 more than I was paying to stay at AoA. I am thinking about switching to Pop Century though.

Looking forward to reading more about your trip! Maybe we'll see yall around! Have a great trip!!!

I wasn't planning to do many sit down restaurants, but now that I added the dining plan, I've got to finish up making my ADRs!

I've already booked breakfast at Cinderella's castle, and dinner at Ohanas! I also added Hollywood & Vine when I read that Sophia and Doc are now there! Cady LOVES both of them! Oh, and Via Napoli - because we both love pizza!

I think I've going to pay OOP for Cinderella's breakfast. I'll see how many other restaurants I add on!

I love your idea of an Easter surprise! The egg hunt would be fun!!!

Subbing in! We're planning a trip for the end of May!

We stayed at AoA in the Little Mermaid rooms our first trip there (our oldest DD was 4 1/2) and we LOVED the resort! Your kids will love it!! Very kid friendly!

What a great idea to use Easter eggs to spill the beans! So cute! Can't wait to hear your plans! :)

following along. We will be at the world for 2 weeks at the end of May and another week in September.

Update!

I've finally brought Hubs into some of the planning! He's generally a "You plan it, I'll love it" type of guy, but some of these details I really wanted his input on. So it's brought up a few more questions and I'm hoping that some of you might have some insider tips or advice on since this will be our first trip to Disney World:

Dining Plans: I love the idea of the Deluxe in that every meal and snack will be pre-paid and we don't have to worry about setting any food money aside. We are a 3 meals a day family, and that's weighing heavily on the Deluxe side. But the Standard is nearly $600 cheaper for our family. We already have reservations at table service restaurants, including 2 character breakfasts. And I really love the fact that once we are there all we need to think about is tips. Thoughts?

Driving vs. Flying:We live in the Washington, D.C. area, so it's only a 12-13 hour drive or a 2 hour flight. We've never flown with our kids and I think it would really add to the experience. I love the idea of not having to worry about transportation once we get to Orlando and just hop on the ME. We are lucky in that our kids don't get car sick, but they do get bored relatively easily.

Side note: EEEEKKK!!! I love seeing my countdown getting smaller every day!!!
