Hi, my name is Fargoman2 and I am a Disney addict.

In August 2001, we made our first ever trip to WDW. "Let's do this right," I said, "because this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip."

In August 2002, we went back to WDW for just another taste. "We've done Disney," I said, "now I want to experience it. Then I'll be satisfied." Afterwards I said, "Hope you enjoyed it kids, it'll be a long time before we ever get back."

In August 2003, a family wedding called us to the East Coast (Philly). "As long as we'll be out there anyway," I said, "let's just zip down to WDW while we're at it. It only makes sense." At the end of that trip, we were bumped from our flight home and got 5 free airfares from United. "Gee, I wonder where we should go next year?"

In July 2004, we enjoyed our 4th consecutive summer trip to WDW--surely this will have to be the last one for awhile. Now a friend of mine at work is trying to convince me to look into getting an ANNUAL PASS to do the old two trips in 366 days thing. "That seems a little crazy to me," I said. "We'll have a great time going on a different vacation next year, I'm sure...really I am."

Just out of curiosity, how much is an AP anyway?;)

Since you love Disney so much, you should consider joining the Disney Vacation Club. We are members and love our membership! We are going 3 times this year and it doesn't seem like we are really spending money, just on food and airline tickets to get there. We buy annual passes every year and always plan our trips to get the most out of our passes. Meaning, we are going next week. Next year we will plan our vacation a week earlier and can still use the same pass.

The annual passes cost:

403.64 for just parks
531.44 for Premium

Mousesavers.com says you break even after 8 days. We will totally break even this year because we are going a total of 19 days this year. We are using our vacation club for accomodations.

This week we are staying at Old Key West
October we are staying at the Beach Club Villas
December we are staying at Old Key West again.

Don't worry about being addicted to Disney, so am I. An addiction to Disney is much better then some other addictions.

Beth

Unfortunately this Disney Addict can't quite make a trip each year although my DKids would love to. Maybe some day we'll be able to make 2 trips within a year to benefit from the annual pass.

Hello, my name is Tanya and I'm also a WDW Addict.

I carry my 2004 Unofficial Guide and my Passporter in my purse everywhere I go, even to church. I keep the Birnbaum's in the car. I go searching for Disney information every day...in the morning, afternoon and at night. I am also addicted to DISboards.

Every night I keep wishing upon a star that I could visit WDW at least 3 times per year for at least a week. Hopefully, I'll be granted my wish in the near future.

Fargoman2 I think I remember reading your posts over the years and recall your "once in a lifetime" theory. It's cool to see another convert. :earsboy:

Hi my names Alli and I'm a Disneyoholic....
I've been to Disney 9 times in the past 15 years....I go for my tenth on Tuesday. This will be the second time in one year we go... In 2001 we went to Eurodisney. Seemingly my whole family is filled with Disneyoholics. Lucky me!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: I'm partal to this hyper smilely:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I have the same problem on the plane on the way home I said we won't be back for a while and my family just laughs and says yea, right! we've been 3 years in a row!:earsgirl:

I was there in July, 2003, February 2004 and we are going again over Labor Day! I can't help myself. I wasn't planning on the Labor Day trip, but the airfares were so good, I couldn't resist. I've never purchased an Annual Pass because I always think "this is it"!

I'm not telling too many of my co-workers about this upcoming trip, because I know they think I'm nuts. However, they sure know who to come to for advice when they are planning a trip to the "World"!!

FARGOMAN!!!!! Glad to hear from you...I remember answering each others posts about CR back in '01! :teeth: This is one incurable addiction, I tell ya! We went summer'01, '02, '03, and stayed at the Dolphin for a few nights Xmas week last year en route to visit family (no parks). Not being there this summer is just down right wrong. So wrong we are in the midst of planning our Dec '04 trip.:p Dh had a job change a few months back and they get time off at Xmas...seems like the perfect place to spend those days to us!
So happy you're family has had such great trips.
BTW those AP's will run you about $405 per adult...a truly wise investment.

Fargoman -

I recall "talking" to you once upon a time. Here is another North Dakota Disney addict. We actually had our "other" trip planned this year. We were going to Hershey, PA cuz that's the only place our Northwest Freq Flyer tickets would take us. Well, both our kids got pretty sick and we were forced to think of cancelling. I got online and discovered that for the small sum of $25 each we could convert our tickets and guess what? Now that we were only two weeks out from departure, the Orlando seats were open!!! Well, it didn't take us long to cancel the Hershey vacation (which we were not that excited about) and make plans to head to Disney! We are leaving Aug. 12. We already had our vacation planned for next year. Guess where?? WDW and a 4-day cruise. Our family thinks we are crazy, but we are so addicted. There are worse addictions.

Hello, terribly addicted here too AND I also did NOT mean for this to happen!!! I truly don't know how it DID!!!

While the kids were growing up we were actually able to keep it to every few years, but THEN in 2001 we went with our youngest son, and MIL and it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary while we were there, I vowed we'd come back for a belated (more private) 25th anniversary celebration the December my "baby" went off to college~~~

That was last December 2003~~~

Then my brother asked if I would go with them in July since I'm a Disney nut and "know the ropes", he said, well, I don't know if you'll like going twice in one year though, "HELLO", he must not know the definition of "Disney nut". Just GIVE me another reason and I'm on my way so we just went July 2004~~~:grouphug:

THEN I said to DH, gee, that was so nice and relaxing last December, let's do it again, so he agreed~~~ ahem~~~so now we're planning December 2004

BUT, since we decided to go TWICE in the same year, why not get AP's, right???~~~:scratchin

Well, THEN I said to DH, we should really get our money's worth out of the AP's and go again in May, it will be the 50th Celebration and I've never seen the Flower and Garden Show, BUT I told him that will be it for a while-----soooooooo now we're adding May 2005.:flower1:

WELL, THEN, I have a bit of weight to lose, so I said to DH, what if when we get back (this would be last week), I weigh myself and lose 1/3 of my weight each time we go to Disney in the next year, SO he said, well, we're going in Dec. and May, so what's the third time??? I said in a little teeny voice.......october????~~~ I'd never been to the Food and Wine Festival or MNSSHP---SOOOOOO NOW we're also adding October 2005!!! But THEN I said that's IT for a while~~~~:scratchin

If it weren't so darn fun, and so relaxing for us, I'd think I was NUTS!!!!

Beware of those AP's.....got one for our trip in April/May 2004 for our 18 day trip, going with DH and DS in October for 8 days, our first stay as DVC members. A quick trip with another Dis er, Pooh'sPal to see all the Christmas decorations, 6 days and then before that darn pass runs out, another 10 days at the Flower and Garden Show in April 2005. A grand total of 42 days at WDW within the year!! I bought the PAP with the DC discount for $500 so that brings my daily ticket cost to just under $12.00 a day!! I know it is a sickness!! My next goal is to work my points out to be able to stay at the BWV in a studio for the month of January some year!!

I too am a Disneyaholic. I am 29 and went to Disney for the first time last October. My main reason for going was to bring my dd who is 6 on her first Disney trip. I thought this would be the only time we'll go, I mean, after you see it once, who needs to go back. Well, after we came home and watched our video we booked our vacation again. My parents think I'm nuts... I'm addicted to these boards also! Every tip I find I print out and put in my "disney file" I'll be more prepared on my second trip!:earsgirl:

Hello, my name is John and I am a Disney Addict.

It's been three whole months since my last visit to Disney World.
I spend every day of my life preparing for my next visit. I count the days, hours and sometimes minutes till the next trip. When I am not daydreaming I am calling for PS's and Ressies. I know it could be seen as a shallow life, but it's the one I have been sucked into. It must have been that apple that old peasant woman gave me in the Kingdom that day. I am DVC, AP and anything else they want me to be. Not yet an Orlando resident... but it's just a matter of time. It's only 44 days until I go back and 114 till we go again (already planning trip three as we speak).

All joking aside, a few have made suggestions of DVC and Annual Passes. If you are going to go often they pay for themselves in the long run. There are discounts on hotel rooms, at the DS's and with DVC you buy in now and, somewhat, avoid inflation. Besides it's always better than signing that credit card statement at the end of your vacation.

Hello, My name is Amanda and I am a Disneyholic. It has been 5 months since my last Disney Trip.

In September 2002 we honeymooned in Disney - first trip for both of us and it was a "Once in a Lifetime" trip.

In February 2004 we went back to Disney to "Enjoy" it.

When we got back I discovered that there is a Marathon run in January 2005 - I've always wanted to do a Half Marathon so I signed up DH and myself. Shortly after that our neighbors returned from a Disney Cruise and raved about it.....we booked to go a cruise May 2005 with them. Just 2 weeks ago DH talked about wanting to see Disney at Christmas...we are now planning a trip for December 2005.

Did I mention that we are also broke?::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

We have been going to WDW for 18 years now and I am a total WDW addict..no cures please or recovery programs..I want to stay addicted...:)

In the early years, we could only go every two years or so, we had small children and my DH was active military so we did good to do that on our small income...:sunny:

In 1996 we went for our 20th anniversary for the first time by ourselves and we absolutely had a wonderful time, and decided henceforth we would go every year. So for 7 years we went every year, sometimes in December and sometimes in September.

My DH who is retired now and working in the civilian sector got sent to a confernce in March, about 4 hours north of WDW, I had the chance to go along and of course..what is a 4 hour trip when you are there close. So we squeezed in our first mini trip for three days..:sunny:

In May we decided we had so much fun on that mini trip in March, we needed to go down and take another one, so this time we drove down from Va for a three day visit...:sunny:

After our May trip we decided we did not wait till December to go again, how about another September trip INSTEAD OF VISITING RELATIVES IN MICHIGAN. That sounded like a much better idea to me (his relatives by the way) and we booked a full week there. Now it dawned us MAYBE since we are going more (4 trips this year alone), maybe we should get an AP for ourselves through Shades of Green...:sunny:

So over Labor Day weekend I will become the proud owner of my first ever AP..I know it will burn holes in my pocket. We already have a tentative mini trip planned in the spring again, along wit hour big trips this sept and dec....:sunny:

I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT...

Yes we have taken our Grandchildren to WDW and their parents take them too...:sunny:

Ummm... I have taken my addiction to another level. I figured out that I would always want to take our vacations at Disney so I convinced the family to move to Orlando so I can go whenever I want and then we can vacation other places. We just found a place to live and I am about to go nuts till I can get my driver's license and get my AP.
