I will be at the Anaheim Marriot in July for 4 days. I will be free on a Sunday around noon and a couple of nights.

Any must do things? Is it worth trying to go a park with only half a day?

What about food? Will I be in walking distance?

I have no DL experience and am excited to be so close!

The Anaheim Marriott (on Convention Way) is close to the parks and (for some) within walking distance. It really depends on how far you consider "walking distance". It a little less than 1.2 miles from the hotel to the Esplanade (depending on the route you take). Some folks also opt to walk to the Toy Story Parking lot and taking the bus to the parks. You can find a relative map on the Anaheim Marriott Good Neighbor Hotel page:
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/hotels/good-neighbor/anaheim-marriott-hotel/

In terms of half of a day, I think it really depends on which day you are looking into going. If it's July 4th or July 17th, you probably won't get very much done on those days because very high crowds (potentially at or near capacity levels) are expected. If it's the weekends associated with those days, then crowds are likely to be higher than normal for that time of year, but not quite at or near capacity levels. July is part of the peak season (summer) at DLR, so high crowds are pretty much expected every day of the week. If you just wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and maybe do one or two rides, then you'll probably be okay.

In terms of food, you can walk to Downtown Disney or try Anaheim GardenWalk. DTD has a lot of good dining options (although on I would recommend looking into making a reservation - either via Disney or OpenTable (if applicable) - before just walking over there) and GardenWalk has a lot of familiar chains.

Thanks! I will be there the 19-22. Sounds like a very busy time. I may pass on trying the park and just enjoy a meal!

Garden Walk is a fun place to go if you aren't going to the parks.
Lots of good restaurants around there. There is also a movie theater that has theaters available with in seat ordering/dining, as well as sells beer/wine. We are locals and that is our go to movie theater!

1/2 day may be worth it if you can get the convention center ticket prices. The last convention center event I went to had a great discount and also offered half day tickets (afternoon-night only).

That's a great idea! I will check. I wonder if I can call in advance and find out?

Maybe call the convention center and ask if it is being offered for your group. With our group of 5,000+ our event sent emails out and tickets had to be bought online before the event even happened. I don't know if they sell them at the convention center.

Just checked the price and it is $60 for a half day ticket which is anytime after 4pm or 4 hours before park closing (whichever comes first). that ticket is $60. If you want a full day ticket it is $92. Again, this is only if your event qualifies for the convention tickets.

Just got back from a 3 day conference at Marriott. We arrived Sunday at 10 am. I spend all day Sunday at DL and mon, tues, weds after the conference sessions at DL OR CA. It was great to get out and walk after being in a conference room all day. Downtown Disney has great food options. I used the ART bus to get from hotel DL. walked the first day but it was a bit too far. 3 day bus pass was $12. Worth it. Even though my time in the parks was limited I was able to go on every ride and see World of color and Fantasmic. Single rider line will be your friend.
