Conf Letter When Renting Points??? HELP

Hello,

Can anyone tell me how soon after you rent and PAY for your points you recieve a confirmation letter either from WDW direct or from the renter....I rented my points back before Dec I think and still have not recieved a letter and the "renters" are not returning my emails.....can someone please advise..thank you.
 
Within 10 days I had the original confirmation in my hand. The dvc member mailed it to me. But I paid in full. Maybe everyone does it differently. Have you paid in full yet? What was your agreement?
 
a confirmation number ,if so you can confirm the reservation with member services.
You should have already received a confirmation from your renter .
You won't get one from MS as they are all sent to the owner of the points to pass on.
 
You have to deal with the person renting you the points. DVC will not mail a confirmation to anyone but the owner. That person should have had the confirmation long ago.

You can call DVC to see whether the reservation exists in your name.
 

I would be a little concerned at this point especially since there seems to be a breakdown in communication. Your first move should be to reconfirm that a reservation exists in the DVC reservation system with your name on it. 1-800-800-9800 press 3 twice. Try to get a reservation number if you don't already have one. You should have received a confimmation letter from your renter within days after the reservation was made. You should also have received the original official Disney confimation within 3 weeks with the person you rented the points from retaining a copy for himself. Do you have a phone number and address of the person you rented the points from? Where did you send payment to? Start making some more overt attempts to contact the member. I am a little surprised at the DVC member doing this to you since this entire process requires a little faith and hand holding. Good luck!!!
 
I read this to mean you own the points and rented to someone else. You can get a second confirmation from Disney, they will NOT send it to the renter. You're bigger problem is that it sounds like someone has likely baked out on you. If you have a phone number or enough info you could find one on the net, give them a call. Otherwise email that you are offering the rental to someone else or cancelling, giving them a few days to respond. I wouldn't actually cancel until you have specific plans in place like using those points for another rental or banking them. Good luck.
 
When we rent points we do not ask for the money until we send them the written confirmation and contract. Then the renter has 30 days to pay us from date of contract. I hope everything works out for you.
 
When renting points from a member try to trade phone numbers so both parties can contact each other if they have questions, how long have you been contacting the "renters" if its been a very short period, maybe they were on vacation. Do you have the conf. #? and you are just waiting for the confirm letter?
if you have the conf. # and the the name of the person you rented from you probable could call ms, but remember the dvc member can cancel that ressies all the way up to your arrivial whether you you have conf. # or not. although if the member does that they would lose their points. keep trying to get a hold of the member and keep us updated, if you would like to pm one of us and let us know the dvc member id, maybe we would be able to tell you something about them. i would say 99%-100% members on this board you can trust , but you never know all it takes is one bad apple.
 
Whenever I have rented points I always sent the person renting the confirmation as soon as I get it. When the confirmation is recieved by the renter they then send me half the amount of the point rental. I also have had a contract drawn up to protect Myself and the renter. Full payment is expected within 45 days of checkin. I would call MS to make sure a ressie exists. The person you rented from should have made the reservation in your name, hope all works out for you

We rented out points for the first time last fall. We got each other's phone and e-mail immediately. I e-mailed them when we got the ocnfirmation with their names(and ours) on it and when they received it they sent uf an e-mail tlling us they had just sent the money. All went well, but there is some trust involved
