Condor Flats in California Adventure outside Soarin'

There are numbers painted on the ground - I can't remember what the numbers were but does anyone know what they mean?

I believe they're supposed to be a 'runway', since the entire area is aviation themed. IIRC the numbers on a runway represent direction (degrees on a circle) so the pilot knows which direction they are taking off/landing.

Runways are named by a number between 01 and 36, which is generally one tenth of the magnetic azimuth of the runway's heading: a runway numbered 09 points east (90°), runway 18 is south (180°), runway 27 points west (270°) and runway 36 points to the north (360° rather than 0°).[1] When taking off from or landing on runway 09, a plane would be heading 90° (east).

It is runway 30. Which would be accurate based on its compass heading. Googling doesn't turn up any Disney meaning behind the choice.

It's a runway. The 30 represents 300 degrees, on the compass. There is no Disney meaning behind the numbers, the runway points that direction.

I wonder if they will re-theme this area to match the upcoming Pixar movie "Planes" which is now getting a theatrical release:

We watched the Disney movie, The Rocketeer, in the hotel room during an afternoon break one day. Later, we went to Condor Flats and loved the way it made us feel like we were in the movie. We liked the old aviation feel to the area. I don't know what the new movie is about, but we really like the classic Disney feel. I am still complaining about the way they inserted Johnny Depp into the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I am all for making new areas like Cars Land, but I prefer they leave the classics areas alone for people to enjoy and remember.
