I'm planning on going to the VWL condo meeting on 12/1. Is anybody else going? Has anybody else gone before? What goes on there? Are we allowed to ask questions/make comments? I would love for them to plant some mature trees to block off the dumpster. We had room 4560 and it was gross. You literally look down into the dumpster.

I've gone to the BWV meeting twice, 2000 and 2004. The first part is official business, that is kind of boring. Then they do a slide presentation on the dues for the following year and any upcoming changes. Then they open the floor for questions. You get people who stand up and say how wonderful DVC is. Some people will ask good questions and they pretty much have prepared answers. The entire meeting is limited to one hour, probably 20-30 minutes is open floor.

Why don't you e-mail member services or contact the member satisfaction manager with your comment now?

I went to the OKW meeting in 2003, even though we weren't OKW members then. I thought it was pretty interesting. First I heard of the pool slide, so you never know what little tidbits of information you might learn. I can't wait to go this year, mostly because now we own there! In the past the meetings have been at the BW convention center, I don't know if they'll be there this year or moved over to SSR.

I didn't even think of where it would be at. I was thinking VWL would be at VWL. ooops. I might even sit in on BCV then if they're at the same place. BCV is at 9 and VWL at 11.

I have attended several OKW annual meetings. I think it is a good way for members to learn how their resort is being run; how the budget works; meet CMs that run the resort, work on the budget, etc. There are two Question & Answer sessions - one for budget questions/comments & the other for general questions/comments. CMs are generally available before & after the actual meeting to talk to members. I have found over the years that DVC CMs really do want to hear what members think, how they feel, what they want or don't want, etc.

One year the OKW meeting was held at what is now SSR (1999, I think). The logisitcs did not work well. The lobby area was small by comparison to the Boardwalk. The lobby area had registration, rest rooms, coffee, etc. - too much in a small space. Boardwalk has worked well for several years now.

Twotohappy, don't feel bad about meeting locations ... the first year we bought into OKW, I thought the meeting would be at OWK, too. Surprise! It was not! So we missed our very first meeting :)!

I plan to go to BCV's. I want to ask about how room ready is really helping anyone, and also why we can't request an Epcot view, even if we know it is limited.

If anyone wants me to ask anything else....let me know, and I will try to ask as many questions as I can.
