Hi,
this is my first post and I have so many questions.
We will be travelling for 12 days and was thinking about renting a house/condo for the time we are there. There will be only 3 adults, no children.
I have seem so many posts about how people got good deals on condos/homes and was wondering how to go about doing that? Where are good locations? What are good companies? We were hoping to pay around $400 for the 12 days (late August to early September) - is this logical and probable? I really want a good location.
Can you help me to find a good one? I am really learly about using Priceline or Hotwire etc. I want a reputable company to rent through. I have also seen on ebay some places for rent as well. Do you recommend using ebay to rent a home?
Thanks<

$400 for 12 days is only $33.33/day. I don't think you can get anything for that price and certainly not a condo or house. The cheapest I've heard folks getting 2-bed condos is about $55/nite. You may be able to do better through skyauction.com. Several folks here have used them with good experiences. I haven't tried it yet but I may for our trip in November.

Check out vrbo.com, closesttodisney.com for some ideas.

First of all: Welcome to the Dis! :sunny: You might want to check out www.hotelkingdom.com also. For the price you are looking for, you might want to do one of the timeshare deals.

There are many places to look, you can always check out

http://www.rentalo.com

These sites are both sites where you can get in touch with owners of vacation rentals.

Like disneysteve said, I think it will be very unlikely that you can find a condo/home for that long for $400. You may be able to find a hotel through priceline but it may still be hard to do as well with taxes.

Skyauction might be a place to look. We won a 2 bedroom condo for July for a week for $326. You would need to win two seperate auctions and not use it a couple of nights on one of your weeks but for two weeks your looking at $420 for the tax/service fees on two auctions before you even bid.

You may need to evaluate your budget to add more for your hotel/condo/home if you plan on being there that long. In order to get in that $400 price range, for twelve nights, you will need to find a place for $30 a night before taxes. Current tax is 12% and is going up to 13% July 1st.
