Just got home from Saratoga Springs Lovely place and cast members
BUT
There were cracks in my tub
the base boards were parting from the wall
and the patio door was missing some paint sections
Overall it was a lovely 1 bedroom but these little damges should not have been
What are we paying the dues for?
Repairs and upkeep right?
Where is the money going??

Did you bring it to anyones attention while you were there? We were there in January and our room was in great condition but that doesn't mean there aren't those that need some TLC.

Send an email to: dvcmembersatisfactionteam@disneyvacationclub.com

If you don't, things will never get fixed.

Definately email member satisfaction - I wrote them a letter (had to enclose photographs of the room from AKL) and they called me this weekend. They were very concerned and brilliant with the issues I raised in my letter.

They take things very seriously for members I feel.

I agree with all. It's great to vent here but unless you let DVC know they can't make the repairs. Glad you had a great trip!

We were also at SSR in Jan. and also felt that our building was in need of some TLC. ( Congress Park) Nothing serious just needed some minor repairs to our room and building.

Now I have had 3 great 2brs at SSR since I've been a member. Acutally they have been in the best shape and I've stayed at VWL,VB,BCV and BWV.

If you had problems, why are you posting here? Did you call maint. when you were at the resort?

We were at BWV for MLK weekend, night before we left the dryer died on me. So Monday morning I called maint. dept to let them know about it bright and early so they could have it looked at before the next guest showed up. Also mentioned the drain in the one bathroom sink was draining a bit slowly.

I was thanked for letting them know so early in the morning that they could hopefully fix the dryer before check in of the next guest.

It took me all of 5 minutes.

Letting them know when you are there and then following it up with a letter is always the best way to handle something like this. We were there in January during the marathon and had some issues. I called and they were resolved immediately. I then wrote a letter to Member satisfaction with my observations during my trip, applauding their successes and then making some suggestions. They called me and seemed genuinely concerned. I also mentioned some cast members that excelled while we were there and they said they would pass it along.

You must let them know. This is how they can get this stuff taken care of.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR QUICK RESPONSES!!!
It seems I'm not alone
so my question still stands
where is our money going
and why isnt the cleaning staff making them aware of the issues
P.S.
I know there children in the room but owners should treat these room like their own homes
right???

It could be because people tend to not write a letter or notify DVC of these things. Alot of people come on here and say things but never write to the appropriate department about it. The best we can do here on the Dis is sympathize with you.
Also...remember this is one room out of how many? I know things like this can damper a vacation but we have heard of many reports that the rooms at SSR are great.

Plus keep in mind that not all guests in the rooms are necessarily DVC members but could be friends or family, let alone taking into consideration the cash reservations.

Perhaps they do treat them like their own home. ;) :scared1:

Once at OKW we were in a studio, and I heard some noise from the connecting one bedroom. In the one bedroom was and older couple and a young, maybe 4yo, child. I assume it was the grandparents taking grandson to Disney. Anyway, from our balcony, I could see it was the child AND grandma, jumping on the couch.

We stayed in the Grandstand section MLK week this year, and our room was in great shape. We had no complaints at all about the upkeep or the cleanliness, except that we found used coffee grinds in the coffee maker. (My mom and I sort of shrugged and threw it out, but didn't mention it to anyone.)

I think that there is one reason for the maintance issues at DVC properities, money.

If the rooms were maintained the way that they should be, then more rooms would be taken out of service and our dues would go up. DVD doesn't want higher dues because it may impact their sales.

We're the owners. If we see something amiss, we need to contact maintenance. During the times when I've noticed problems and contacted maintenance, they have been quick to come and fix the problem.

Hopefully, the more of us that do this, the better looking our villas will be upon arrival.

We stayed at SSR in Grandstand MLK weekend in two studios and they were in great shape. The only issue we had was the telephone in one of the rooms did not work. We used the telephone in the other room to report it and the telephone was replaced within 30 minutes. I thought that was wonderful service.

The only time I had an issue at SSR was the tub was not draining. I called maint, and they were there as we were walking out the door 20 minutes later. I have always thought the service at Disney as being very exceptional.

op, jmho, I understand what you are saying but I don't think mousekeeping is necessarily overlooking all things that need repairs &/or attention of maintenance-repairs staff. I'd think something "major" mousekeeping would promptly report but perhaps minor issues not since their primary responsibility/concern is getting that villa cleaned & turned over so the next guest may get in as quickly as possible.

So it is important for all of us members to make the call when we see something that needs to be fixed ::yes::

In our few experiences calling in to maintenance they made the effort to be very quick and that seems to be what other posters here experienced too.

Not for nothing but I shouldnt have to call anyone!
I understand what everyone is saying
But this is DISNEY people! the rooms should be inspected or reported by someome
kept immaculate by the staff
We should not have to "call" anyone
some members are paying over 700 dollars a year for this reason
I shouldnt not have to 'CALL" anyone
that call should be made before I get there
P.S.
AND NO WIRE HANGERS!
