condiments?

Rarely do fast food, but if they do give us extras, I just toss them. For the ketchup it would take so many packets to get the amount I want for fries it's just more convenient to use my bottle from home. I do however, throw the napkins in my glovebox.

I try and keep any extra they give me, but I don't go grabbing handfuls and laugh evilly as I run away, if that is what you mean.

So sorry for the simple question. I didn't think I was suggesting that anyone steals the condimenst. Just wondering what you did with extra IF you had any!

No problem!:) If I ever end up with any extra, I use when I pack my lunch for work. Or save them for a vacation when I know I will use them.

When we get extra, I do save them. I hate throwing food away. Admittedly, they rarely get used and end up getting thrown away eventually anyway. But I do have a small stash in case of a ketchup/hot sauce emergency :D

If they give them to me without asking if I want them, I usually save them for a while and end up tossing them. I look at the ketchup and mayo packets as insurance against running out of the bottled stuff (rare instance). I do keep and use extra soy sauce packets.

I get take-out salads every now and then. If I'm bringing it home to eat I'll use the bottled dressing I have in the fridge and save the dressing packet for when I need to brown bag a salad. I just used two on my WDW trip last week :-)

Depending on what they are I do keep them in a small basket in the fridge. That basket gets emptied about every quarter. I actually end up using them in my lunches or when I travel a lot of the times. If I do start to overflow the basket I empty it out.

I thought of this thread tonight because we had left-over rotisserie chicken and my daughter used a honey mustard packet I had gotten at Chik-fil-A. I feel like I need to confess that when I get Chik-fil-A for myself for lunch (which is about once a month) I do ask for ranch and honey mustard sauces (one of each, just in case anyone is wondering)-- the ranch for myself to actually use with the chicken strips and the honey mustard to stock-pile for my daughter. She only wants it once in a while, and I have thrown out bottles that have gone bad. So now I keep a stash of Chik-fil-A honey mustard for her. I am wondering how bad you all think this is!

When we were first dating, DH was of the opinion that one never buys ketchup because they give it out free at fast food places. He had a condiment drawer - then 'we' had a condiment drawer. I *hated* that drawer. Once we got engaged, he made a big show of buying 'his bride' a bottle of ketchup. I am pleased to say the drawer no longer exists.

I have a friend who saves those packets and puts them in her Halloween candy bowl. When insolent teenagers come to her door on Halloween (not dressed in a costume) she sneaks the condiments into their bags. :rolleyes1
