I see the updated menu from all ears but we bought the 2007 Birnbaum's Dining Guide and it isn't anywhere in there. I thought they are changing the Contemporary Concourse area, will they still have the steakhouse?

We were thinking it might be a nice change from the regular chicken nuggets for the kids!

I have an ADR there in two weeks! So it still exists, although, it will be my first time to eat there.

Yes, it's still there now. We do enjoy the location and the menu.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your dining there!

As of right now the Concourse Steakhouse is open for business and will be until they are told to close up and move to the 1st floor of the Contemporary where the Food & Fun Center is and change their name to the Waive. The rumors are they will serve an Asian themed menu and the rumoured move is suppost to happen this October.

We ate lunch there today and it was great! The CM told us that the menu will have some changes tomorrow. We had salmon sandwiches and she said these would change to mahi mahi. Don't know what the other changes will be. Food and service were very good and it was a pleasant change from the crowds in the parks.

I am not real happy with these changes, and it would figure it would happen in October when we wanted to eat there for our next trip.

It's only a rumour that it might happen in October, however since that is what out there I felt I had to post it incase it becomes true. Personally I hope that is when it happens because it will mean the Concourse Steakhouse and Food & Fun Center will still be open where they are now, so nothing will have changed for my familes next stay at the Contemporary this August. That may sound a little selfiish for me to say that, however I am sure I am not the only person who thinks that if they have an upcoming stay in the next few months at the Contemporary.

I had heard of all the changes too, but I just hadn't heard the timeline. I am still irked that they are going to take out the concourse level gift shops, as those are some of my favorite shops!

The Bay View Gifts store (B.V.G) is still open and merhchandice from the Fantasia store is being sold in the middle of the 4th floor in that area of where the store use to be. I think in the future they plan to expand the Bay View Gifts so it would be the one central store for merchandsie. As for the Concourse Sundries and Spirits store that is also still open and even with the arcade moving in next door, I think it will be staying where it is.

YEah, I noticed that about Concourse in Birnbaums as well. :( We hate that it's scheduled to change formats, it's one of our favorite steaks, better than our Le Cellier experiences (donning flameproof suit). I have ADRs for it for two nights of our upcoming May visit.

No flame suit required! I've also had better steak at the Concourse, and I like the atmosphere there (even with Chef Mickey's next door, it seems so peaceful in that wide open space). I have a hard time imagining how they will keep a restaurant on the first floor from feeling like you're underground, since there are no windows. It will go from wide open space to cramped and claustrophobic - not a great thing in my book.

Has anyone heard what will happen to the Outer Rim? It seems like it's patronized more by Steakhouse guests than Chef Mickey's guests, so I wondered if maybe it was going to move downstairs as well. They could put a lounge where the Food Center is and the new restaurant in the arcade space.

I have not heard that the Outer Rim will be moving so unless WDW says something different, I will believe it will stay where it is. Besides guests who wait for their ADR's at Chef Mickey's can still go there. Plus it's in a nice relaxing setting for guests to have drinks with friends and family.
