Anyone use the meal vouchers at Concourse Lunch? I've not seen many posts about it and it looks like there is a very good steak selection at lunch there?? Do they have nice desserts?

If that's the place next door to Chef Mickey's (I get it confused with the one upstairs) it was the worst place we have ever eaten at Disney. The service was terrible, and the waitress acted like we were someone's poor cousin when we asked to share a meal and showed our voucher. It was the only place where we were uncomfortable using the vouchers. The garlic mashed potatoes that we have had all over Disney was like eating glue. The medium steak could have been a hockey puck. Maybe we hit a bad day.

I've never used the vouchers there but felt I had to give another review of The Concourse Steakhouse. We had ps at California Grill but serveral people in our party chickened out when they saw the menu. Here we were starving in the CR and didn't want to do Chef Mickey's again when we came across The Concourse. We did not have a ps but were graciously seated immediately and I have to say that it was one of our best meals. It was so nice to have fresh, hot food instead of the buffet stuff that we had been eating almost constantly for 4 days!! Several people had steak and I had a pasta dish and it all was wonderful. The astmosphere was quiet and relaxing and I would definitely eat there again!

Thank you for these "varied" reviews! I'm seriously tickled about this because oh my goodness, which experience would mine be???

Has anybody else used a lunch voucher at Concourse? I would like more review as I am considering this. My DH isn't crazy about any use of coupons/vouchers so I am particularly interested in any "attitude" problems from the wait staff. THANKS! Also - I have a 4 year old, is the place child-friendly?

We've used connection lunch vouchers there last September, no problem using them. But like others said, the meal wasn't nothing to write home about, I expected better and will not go back. There was a convention going on when eating there and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed(sp?).

We also used the lunch vouchers in september. The restaurant wasn't busy. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly, very attentive, and of course, very helpful with having us order the most food possible with our vouchers! We used 2 for 2 people and didn't eat much else that day. Our 2 year old slept through the meal.

I'd say the food was mostly very good. We had 2 different salads (loved the tomato stack), 2 different steaks (the filet was better than whatever huge one DH ordered), a side of mushrooms, a side of asparagus, 2 smoothie type drinks, 2 desserts (one with an additional side of ice cream) and 2 coffees (maybe 1 espresso?). We ended up taking some food back to our room.

Maybe we were just lucky, but our server was very happy to help us out. As soon as we sat down I showed her the vouchers and asked what we could get on them. She guided us through every course :) Now, maybe if we had only had 1 voucher & were splitting, she would have been less thrilled, as it would be half the dollar amount for her tip. Even if we planned to tip extra, she would have no way of knowing this up front.

We had also heard mixed reviews, but for $60, it was worth it to take a chance. You'd pay about the same for a buffet (with tax & tip).

We were not able to get a smoothie..she said no frozen drinks..she wouldn't even let us get a bottled water. Yet you got smoothies and cooffee..which is more than the voucher even calls for. No sides, since the meal came with sides..although we split a crab cake appetizer..much better deal for them over at Rainforest. You're right, she doesn't know if it's an extra tip for sharing. It was very dead when we went, and you would think she would be happy for any tip..and a sure 15% (although I thought someone said they got 12%) of $30 for the voucher and the possibility of more, for a 40 minute meal from one table, isn't all that bad. It was more than she was getting from the single people ordering sandwiches, and sitting there forever, getting cup after cup of coffee.
Even though it may have been an isolated case, we won't be back..not when there are so many better ecperiences we had...and much better food.
