Concourse closing? CM said she hasn't heard!

I just got off the phone with Dining and the CM told me she has heard nothing about The Concourse Steakhouse closing or changing at all. She even put me on hold to ask others. I am planning on a dinner there in Nov. I read it on these Boards that it was closing for renovations and opening later in the year as a different type of restaurant. Who to believe?

From our convo with our server a few weeks ago at the Concourse, it will be removed to a different location in the resort and the name changed to The Wave. This is suppose to happen next year so it shouldn't affect your ADR in Nov.

This is one of the reasons that so many of the DIS regulars take what a CM says with a very large grain of salt. Rumors abound in the CM world, some true, some not, and some don't even bother listening.

CMs are not told much of anything, and then only what they absolutely have to know. Plus many CMs working in the call centers aren't even in Orlando so they don't hear as much WDW gossip and rumors

I was just looking at the schedule of renovations for the Contemporary and the Concourse Steakhouse is not closing until April 2008, so your ADR there in November is 100% ok. Even though the CM on the phone did not hear anything since that schedule was released, it finally put the rumours to rest of when the closing would happen. Besides since every other rumour with the Contemporary has come true that being the arcade moving to the 4th floor and the building of the DVC building. (I know it has not been announced but with the demolition of the North Garden Wing that is enough evidence I need to see it's true.) So WDW releasing this schedule confirms what we have been talking about the past year.

If you have not seen the schedule before here it is.

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.
