Can anyone comment on the atmosphere at the Concourse Steakhouse? We have done Chef Mickeys. Is the CS also "open" like CM? The food looks good so I am comtemplating a lunch ADR here but prefer our sit downs to be more like a quiet retreat from busy busi-ness of the day. Is this place out in the open to the hoppin and the buzzin of the monorail etc. Thank you for any replies.

It's right next to Chef Mickey's, separated by only some ropes and some low walls with planters on them. On the other hand, at least for dinner on a Friday evening, it wasn't NEARLY as noisy as I'd expected! And you've got to figure, at lunchtime most people will be in the parks. The monorail is very quiet - if you're sitting with your back to it, you probably won't even notice it go through.

Ok...thank you. Now I have a better picture of where it is located. We may give it a try. Thanks.

Click Here for a pic of the concourse steakhouse from above. It will show you where it ends and Chef Mickey's begins. :flower: I've eaten at CS a few times and have never felt disturbed by the noise from Chef Mickey's.

Myst

If you are looking for a quiet place for lunch, this is the perfect place for you. A five minute walk from the front entrance to Magic Kingdom. Chef Mickey's is not open for lunch so all you will have is the shushing of the monorail overhead (and it's very quiet). Excellent spot to take a break from Magic Kingdom. Go for it.

imo good quiet spot w/horriable food. Thats just my opinion i was very disappointed last time i was there

I loved Concourse Steakhouse. DH and I went there as a "last minute" thing. We wanted steak and almost went to Yachtsman, but decided we'd give Concourse a whirl. What a great surprise. :sunny:

Even though it's located in such a "busy" area, it really doesn't have a chaotic feel to it. The atmosphere was quite relaxed. The service was great, the food even better. And I had some kind of citrusy mixed drink which was the best I'd ever tasted in all of WDW. :sunny:

Enjoy! :teeth:

My family absolutely loved Concourse. For DH, DS13 and DS14 it was their fave. DS11 loved Chef Mickey(Characters)better, but he wasn't feeling the greatest that night. And for me it was a tie between Concourse and Ohana's(I liked the atmosphere at Ohana's better) Our best waiter was at Concourse. He was funny and gave DS13 a drink with the lighted ice cube even though he had started off with the soda. If I didn't have ressies at other places I think my family would have eaten there every night. Also they weren't over whelmed by huge portions of food--just enough to fill us.

We enjoy Concourse. We like to make a late reservation (our kids are older, don't know how this would work for you), but we don't notice much noise from Chef Mickey's. Actually sometime I find myself waiting for the "birthday song" . It reminds me of all the birthdays my kids celebrated there. IMHO the food is good, better than it was a number of years ago. In fact we stopped going for a time because we had a "less than great" meal years ago. We decided to try it again and we all really liked it.

ENJOY!!

We loved the concorse steakhouse we ate there last week and thought it was wonderful, I have read on the board that this place is not really busy, we went there twice and it was quite full both times. I don't think it was quiet and not exactly loud, I would say comfortable. Your tables in my opinion are really set father apart from other tables, unlike many of the disney restuarnts. Like Le Cellier, Le Chef de France, Wolfgang Puck, the seating for the restuarants here were pretty close together, we pretty much talked to everybody in these resturants since the tables we so close.

During our most recent WDW trip with the free dining plan, I would have to say that this was one of the BEST meals that we had the whole week and we ate everywhere. Not only was it empty at 12:30 pm on a Monday afternoon, we heard not one sound from Chef Mickey's (honestly I was wondering if it was open). We had great service and our steaks were better than Le Cellier. If you are using the dining plan, this was the most generous restaurant that we encountered. They allowed a glow cube drink for my DD and switched around drinks and desserts for my check since we only had one dining credit left. We will definitely be going here again. Plus, it was such a quick walk back to MK after our meal so we didn't have to take the whole monorail loop around.
