We have stayed at the GCH in a suite w/concierge on many occasions in the last two years...it is great!! You will not be disappointed with their service or offerings. The last time we were there was Sept. '04 and they offered:
Breakfast: Extensive cereals, breads (awesome chocolate croissants!), muffins, fruit, beverages, etc.
Early afternoon: "Tea time" with yummy Mickey scones, chocolate dipped strawberries, tea sandwiches, cookies, and more
Early evening: Wine and Cheese reception with veggies, dips, breads, different cheeses, at least one hot and one cold appetizer, PB&J's for the kids, huge cookies, and more
Later evening (around 8:00): Cookies, coffees, variety of liquors, sometimes various desserts like Rice Krispie treats, etc. They also offer a storytime for the kids around this time, which our kids loved and had to come to every night we were there.
There is normally always some type of fruit, chips or cookies offered other than at these times, plus water, sodas, coffee, milk and juice.
You can borrow DVD's for your room, the staff will make any type of reservation for you, and the lounge is also a great place to watch the fireworks from the patio if there will be any when you are there. Any question or concern we had was handled with a smile from the staff. We found that there were so many food offerings that we only ate lunch elsewhere (in the parks). Breakfast and the evening offerings were plenty to keep our family of two girls, hubby and Grandpa more then satisfied...which along with the water, soda and coffee definitely justified the additional cost to us. If you don't think you will really utilize these services, as some others have posted--usually people who like to be in the parks open to close--which we do no--then it may not be worth it for you. But if you are looking for more of a "vacation" and utilize the concierge lounge it's great!!
I also recommend taking the Art of the Craft tour that the hotel offers--it was really interesting.
We've also stayed at the DLH in a suite w/concierge and were not as impressed. They offer the same beverages, but the food offerings were definitely more "snacky", probably as it's more geared to kids. The wine and cheese hour had more chips/dips and there wasn't the tea time or storytime. I probably wouldn't pay the extra $$ for concierge there again. Also, we didn't find the staff to be as helpful and the lounge always seemed crowded.
No matter what you'll have a great time!!! Have fun!
