May have the opportunity to splurge a little and was wondering which DL hotel has the best concierge?

Plus what is concierge at DL? It is worth the added cost?
Will they be able to get those hard to get PS?

TIA

There really aren't that many hard to get PS ...or at least not like at WDW. We've stayed concierge at DL and also Paradise Pier. Paradise Pier was pretty sad. Not worth a it at all. Lounge hours are shorter and offerings not as good as DL.

Our service at DL was great. CMs were very nice. Lounge is also nice. Not lots of room for kids running around but it has a TV and nice areas for sitting at tables and/or couches/chairs. It has a great view of DTD and the two parks (kinda). For fireworks they turn off the lights and pipe in the music. Very nice. Comfortable and relaxing. The offerings are nice but not quite as extensive as WDW, we've found. Depends on what you are looking for ... we liked the extra pampering - turn down at night with chocolates ...having the lounge to go to and relax in AM and in PM.

The main PS to get would be at Goofy's but we haven't ever had much problem with it. Ariel in the parks might be another one. And, some of your sit down restaurants. But the CMs at Concierge for DL were definitely good and tried to do their best. Is it worth the extra money -- depends where you put your value --so it hard to answer.

Thanks,

That is a great start! I have not even stayed concierge at WDW, so really don't know what to expect?

Know anything about the GC?

We have stayed at the GC but not concierge so I'm not any help there. It is closer to the parks and has its own entrance to Californian Adventure which is nice if you are going there. We found the rooms to be a bit smaller than at the DL hotel but it does have more of an elegant feel to it. It has a grand lobby which the DL does not really have so if you like that type of environment it is nice. For us, reminded us too much of the pacific northwest where we lived for 20 years so we didn't really feel like we were getting away. The DL was more magical for us in the theme and environment around the grounds ... for our DS6 that works better. The pool at DL is also themed and while the one at GC is very nice, very nice, in regards to a theme or being magical, it just didn't do much for any of us. Overall, if it is just adults, I would tend to say that the GC is a good choice but my DS prefers the DL over the GC.

Thank You Once Again!

It's just myself and DD13. DD loved the way WL looked and since the GC and WL are based on the same sort of thing.......

I guess will try that one, that is if the opportunity presents itself.

One way or the other, GC it is, whether Concierge or not!

Thank you for all your insight.

If you can swing it ... I've heard that you can get a view from GC that overlooks California Adventure ... and if there when it happens ... you can see the evening parade from your balcony. The view of Downtown Disney is also available which will let you sit on the balcony and watch everyone at DTD but that can get a tad noisy, some nights.

Also, keep in mind, if you are there for any period of time, the mugs they sell at the little foodcourt at GC are a good value as you can get all the pop/coffee you want for the one price. They are handy mugs for home, also.

We are only there for three days just prior to the Panama Cruise but will definately get the mugs for the souvie factor! Plus that way I won't have to pack one for the cruise!LOL

Thanks again, I hope that I can get one of those views! That would be awesome!

:cheer2: We have stayed at the GCH in a suite w/concierge on many occasions in the last two years...it is great!! You will not be disappointed with their service or offerings. The last time we were there was Sept. '04 and they offered:

Breakfast: Extensive cereals, breads (awesome chocolate croissants!), muffins, fruit, beverages, etc.

Early afternoon: "Tea time" with yummy Mickey scones, chocolate dipped strawberries, tea sandwiches, cookies, and more

Early evening: Wine and Cheese reception with veggies, dips, breads, different cheeses, at least one hot and one cold appetizer, PB&J's for the kids, huge cookies, and more

Later evening (around 8:00): Cookies, coffees, variety of liquors, sometimes various desserts like Rice Krispie treats, etc. They also offer a storytime for the kids around this time, which our kids loved and had to come to every night we were there.

There is normally always some type of fruit, chips or cookies offered other than at these times, plus water, sodas, coffee, milk and juice.

You can borrow DVD's for your room, the staff will make any type of reservation for you, and the lounge is also a great place to watch the fireworks from the patio if there will be any when you are there. Any question or concern we had was handled with a smile from the staff. We found that there were so many food offerings that we only ate lunch elsewhere (in the parks). Breakfast and the evening offerings were plenty to keep our family of two girls, hubby and Grandpa more then satisfied...which along with the water, soda and coffee definitely justified the additional cost to us. If you don't think you will really utilize these services, as some others have posted--usually people who like to be in the parks open to close--which we do no--then it may not be worth it for you. But if you are looking for more of a "vacation" and utilize the concierge lounge it's great!!

I also recommend taking the Art of the Craft tour that the hotel offers--it was really interesting.

We've also stayed at the DLH in a suite w/concierge and were not as impressed. They offer the same beverages, but the food offerings were definitely more "snacky", probably as it's more geared to kids. The wine and cheese hour had more chips/dips and there wasn't the tea time or storytime. I probably wouldn't pay the extra $$ for concierge there again. Also, we didn't find the staff to be as helpful and the lounge always seemed crowded.

No matter what you'll have a great time!!! Have fun!

Thanks for the details!

That sounds so wonderful!

Looking forward to our first trip to DL!

Thanks Again!
