I wish Disney was a bit more helpful with this information. I thought there were 3 hosts and a bartender. Now I read that there are 3 hosts, 2 food hosts, and a bartender. What is a food host and are there multiple bartenders? Do you tip bartenders at the time of service? How do you gauge how much to tip? I'm not sure how much interaction we are going to have with anyone . Just trying to get a benchmark. Appreciate any info.

We’ve never had more than one bartender and one food host. You have very little interaction with the food hosts, but they are always there replenishing the food in the buffet. The level of interaction you’ll have with the bartender depends on how much you use his/her services. We request a few cocktails a night, so they often get special bottles or ingredients for us, and we end up interacting a lot with our bartenders.

As far as tips go, we tip everyone on the last day of the cruise, but we are not Americans so tipping is not natural for us, as is use of cash. We get extra envelopes for the food host and bartender. Concierge hosts tips are pooled, so there‘s no need to tip one specific host. We usually tip 20$ per night for the bartender, so 150$ for a 7-nights cruise, around 50$ for the food host, and the amount for the concierge hosts vary depending on how much service we required from them and our level of interaction.

Concierge tipping is all over the place on these boards and on FB. We just do what we feel is justified.

Same here as previous poster. We tip food host, I believe there is only one, the bartender, and the hosts. How much depends on our interaction and level of service. Use your best judgement.

Tip what you believe the service justifies. We tend to tip on the heavier side I believe and that is because we also get a cabana and feel that tip should encompass the service we received while on castaway cay.

I normally give the bartender and food host cash also as we normally get outstanding service from them while in the lounge.

If it is helpful, we tipped the concierge staff based on the recommended tips that DCL has for the dining room wait staff, room steward etc. We compared the service they gave us to the other staff and tipped accordingly.
