Concierge related questions - discounts and MDR

We are sailing on the Fantasy Eastern itinerary in early November. My 125 day countdown for booking everything is coming up in about a month so I want to be prepared. On our last cruise on the Dream last August 2016, we had upgraded at the port to the one-bedroom concierge so I did not go through shore side concierge then.

I have tons of questions but I wanted to get a few out of the way for now. I'll have a whole bunch more as I think of them.

For those who have sailed concierge, can you verify that you do not get the 10% discount stemming from the placeholder on board booking?

Also, are there more desirable tables or sections in the MDR that you request with shore side concierge?

TIA

If the future cruise you book is a concierge stateroom, there is no 10% discount. I believe you may still receive the OBC. It has nothing to do with your concierge status on the current cruise. So in November if you wish to book a non-concierge stateroom on a future cruise, you should get full OBB benefits (assuming you don't book a blackout date); if you book another concierge stateroom on that future cruise, no discount.

Also, are there more desirable tables or sections in the MDR that you request with shore side concierge?

I don't believe there's particular value in requesting a certain table or location in the MDRs, mainly because it varies by restaurant (table 6 may not be in the same location at each MDR) and they may also shift tables around by cruise (so table 12 on today's cruise may be different location than table 12 on next week's cruise). However, as concierge I believe you will automatically have a private table for just your party unless you request to be seated with others.

Enjoy your cruises!

Of course, things may change from time to time, but unless they changed the table layout in an MDR, what possible reason would they have for changing the table number assignments? That would be terribly confusing for the staff for no benefit.

One possible benefit would be seating in Animator's Palate. Some tables are close to the action as far as interaction goes, and others are far enough away that they usually get ignored.

That depends on the size of your party. If you have only 2 guests in a Concierge room, I would not expect private dining unless you requested it.

I think the point was what is "advantageous" in one dining room may be, say, next to a service station in another. The table layout is not identical and ergo Table 6 in AP is not going to be in an equivalent place in Enchanted Garden.

I was told the opposite by Shore Side. All concierge guests are assigned a private table unless they request otherwise. We were a party of 2 and had a private table.

If you have questions you can also email shore side..............you don't have to be inside the 125 day window to contact them with any questions.

This is what we were told by Shoreside as well.

DH and I have sailed many times and we are always given a private table when we are concierge. I've been told it's automatic at the concierge level even with 2.
