Concierge Questions (Especially Re: Gluten)

4. You can order pizza from room service then take it to the concierge deck.

I started reading responses. But stopped.

I'm celiac and have cruised concierge twice with the lounge. Once I upgraded at the port. Even on that cruise, I had a table to ourselves. We always request it, and haven't not gotten that yet. My next 2 concierge cruises are coming up soon. One on the Fantasy and one on the Dream. During my last cruise, which is the only one that I pre-booked into that category - I had a gluten free sandwich waiting for me on opening day. They would have had dessert each day for me, but I'd just eat what was gluten free on the bar. Most nights if I wanted it I could have something. They would find out each day what was safe for me. I never had an issue doing that and am very sensitive. Each day for breakfast I'd get a toasted bagel. (gluten free.) They run off to some save kitchen and get it. Then they have it in the lounge around the time you would normally come, or just run off and get it when you show up. My kid and I would get there every day at like 7;15 so they knew to be ready for us. I saw one guy getting hard boiled eggs. I also really like meats and cheeses and those were available each morning as well. The popcorn they give out by the bag is gluten free and we eat a lot of that. The waiting for lunch is still a thing at CC. And my last meal was soooo bad that I couldn't eat it. I have never been served an edible gluten free meal at CC. but it is still my favorite island. The last time, I actually just went to a chef and asked what was safe and he got it for me in like 10 minutes. Seriously my other meal was just horrible. We ate near the cabanas- I never know which cookies that is. I still find the lounge useful and they will try and get you things. I do bring my own crackers each cruise because it is easier, but once PJ (host) went to the store in a port and bought me a box. Oh, they usually have gluten free donuts on the ship. Once I asked for Kaatz donuts and they sent like 4 boxes to my cabin. Ha ha. It wasn't the flavor that I liked, but it was a nice touch. Please ask any q;s you have. I will be on the Fantasy in the lounge on March 4th! :)

Thanks for the detailed info! Agree that the CC gf pre-ordered meals are yuck. You've given me a lot of hope for a good concierge lounge experience on the ship.
