For those who have sailed in Concierge....I am looking to take our second cruise for Spring Break this year. Last year my 6 yo son and I cruised on the Dream in a Verandah stateroom on the 3 night Bahamas from Port Canaveral. This year we can either take a 7 night Southern Caribbean in the same style stateroom on the Magic or do the 3 night on the Dream in a Concierge Family Verandah for the same price. If you could choose which would you do?

Another "longer is better" vote here.

Concierge doesn't really hold much appeal for me.

I'd say the longer the better, indeed! We did a 3-night and agreed it's not enough time to relax and unpack. We are trying a 4-Night in concierge this fall and I'm already planning a 7-night for 2018.

I love Concierge, but a 7 night is so much better.

I have 3 sons and back in 2010 on our first crusie (7 night) they were 16, 12 and 10. They loved the long cruise, they did not want it to end.

I just wasn't sure if going on a 7 day would be too much for a 6 yo. Thanks!
My youngest was 4 on our first 7 nighter on the Magic - we couldn't get her out of the Oceaneers Club before 10:00 on any night to go to bed. She had a fantastic time. Now she is 9 and can't wait to get on the Fantasy next month for Spring Break.

More than enough options for your DS to be entertained on a 7 day cruise. We have only done 7 nights with our DD 7&9, they love them. We have been on the Fantasy in multiple Verandah rooms and sailed concierge (with port upgrade) this most recent. We will consider Concierge again ( booked the Wonder Southern Caribbean) but we enjoy the longer cruises enough to not give up the longer cruise for Concierge.

How did the port upgrade compare to the actual booking price?

Port upgrades are always less than booking price but the upgrade charge is dependant on how much you paid for your initial booking. The supervisor on duty has a chart they use to calculate the price based on original booking price.

How did the port upgrade compare to the actual booking price?
I posted more info in another thread, but forget where! As indicated, the port upgrade desk uses a chart based on the category you are booked in and the one you are upgrading to. We were booked in cat 4E extended verandah - we upgraded to a 1 bedroom concierge suite. The cost was $3k, but our full investment was $6k less than the prevailing rate For the Concierge 1 bedroom at sailing.
