Concierge pricing questions

Hello, potentially looking at doing a cruise in 2026. Would be taking our DD, and SIL, and 3 grands (who will be 3, 5 and 7 or 2, 4 and 6, depending on the time of the year)

While I realize that booking might not be until 12/2024; I’m just wanting to find info on how much more is concierge than regular guest rooms. Just need to get my travel budget in order!

Look at a comparable cruise for a similar time of year, itinerary and ship. The DCL website. You will see the difference - and a ballpark base for your budget.

My initial response is a LOT!

If the 2003 cruise in your signature is correct, be prepared for a shock.

Plan for at least 2-2.5x, more if it is not a standard itinerary. That is per room. With your party size, you would need multiple rooms.

You can look at quotes in the release day threads for similar sailings for an idea.

I know it will be a lot! This trip will most likely be a “one and done” trip that we are taking our daughter and her family on. At a certain point, she will not want her kiddos to miss school.

I feel so stupid….for some reason, I did not realize concierge pricing is right there on the website, as we are hoping to “off season”, the pricing doesn’t scare me too much.

Yeah, sometimes I snoop around on the website just to see what concierge rooms are going for. I have a hard time fathoming some of those prices and how people justify them. $34,000 has got to be the Royal Suite/whatever name it has for that particular ship.

To be clear, I have no issue with how some people choose to spend their money. I personally just can't fathom paying that much for a cruise stateroom. And this coming from my family who is splurging on a one-bedroom suite in November, which is well more than we ever fathomed paying for a cruise.

I second the suggestion of looking at the sailings that are on the website now. Look for the time of year you plan to go and the same/similar itinerary, and it should give you a decent idea.

We upgraded from a family verandah stateroom to a one-bedroom suite for a Merrytime in November, and it about tripled the cost for us. YMMV based on time of year, ship, itinerary, etc.

DCL blog also has a decent list of opening day prices based on double occupancy. For whatever it's worth to you

As others mentioned-check the prices. We sail conceirge when it is a good value. Just checked for our trip Italy/Greece cruise next year and it is 3x the price, so as much as I enjoy conceirge and would love it for this trip, taking a pass and booking another cruise instead.
