Concierge or fly, we have decided

First let me say thank you to everyone who responded. It was great to hear everyone's ideas.

The decision was actually pretty easy to come to after last nights news. We heard the report about possibly more terrorist attacks using planes and my dh decided he didn't want to have to listen and worry about these reports until November (we are going from the 15 - 22) so we decided not to fly. I know that there are still dangers on the road, but neither of us likes to fly to begin with so any scary news was enough to change our minds.

I upgraded us to concierge this morning for less than 3 plane tickets out of Atlantic City would have cost.

My dh mentioned to his mother that we were considering concierge and she threw a fit. She just couldn't see why a little food and someone to turndown our beds each night is worth it. I have never stayed on concierge but after learning as much about it as I could I know that it is so much more than that. It is a level of service that although my not be tangible is very, very worth it. I feel thrilled with this decision, but now I'm afraid that I'll be spoiled. Boy is my MIL going to pitch a fit when she finds out (but she's not paying for it).

Well, 107 more days to go. It's going to be a long 107 days. :)

Thanks!

Jenn

Good for you! My family and I have made sort of the same decision for our December trip... we added on 4 nights to our AKL stay for the price of a rental car and three plane tickets! It's only a 12 hour drive for us, so it was a no brainer!

Have a wonderful time!

Erin :D

You're going to LOVE it!! :) They take such good care of you at the AKL!

As for your MIL--I'd gently remind her that she isn't paying for the trip so it's none of her business, and that in the future if she'd like to pay for a trip to WDW for you, you'd be happy to stay where ever she chooses. :)

Have to say that I did think of you and your situation last night when I heard the news story about possible terror alerts. Isn't it funny how, because of these boards, we think of people we have never met and wonder how their planning is going. Your peace of mind is worth the extra concierge costs. Not to mention the spoiling you're going to get. I'm a little jealous.

Like I said in the other thread - I would drive if I could. Just to not have to stress about flying and all. California is just too far for a WDW road trip (although I am sure it would be cool) with a 3 yr old.

HAVE FUN! and now enjoy planning!!! Also enlist the concierge staff to do your PS's and make a lot of plans - eat like a pig too - afterall your pregnant! That is the best time to pig out and not worry about it.
Take care and happy planning! :)
