Concierge on the "new" Magic

When will they get these things fixed with sailings scheduled constantly? We aren't scheduled to sail until next Dec on the Magic but we might switch to Fantasy and wait a bit more......

We were in a concierge room for the October 25th sailing on the Magic. Do not believe any publicity that the rooms are refreshed and refurbished because it is simply not true, at least the 3 rooms we had were not. We got to our cabin and our keys were not working. Once we got inside we realized that we did not have any air conditioning and our sink did not have any water, we had wires hanging from the ceiling. Our wave phones were not working properly so you could not call the concierge for help. You had to sit on hold for up to an hour to try and get the basic necessities. Our safe was broken with our items inside and luckily one of us was in the room when he arrived hours later to fix it because he came alone. A huge security issue when our wallets and jewelry were in the safe that took him an hour and a half to fix and had to drill through to open it. Our friend's room did not have a working toilet, had mold all around, had bugs in it, I could go on and on. Basically, our one full day trip was spent on hold and waiting for people to fix our cabin. I wish I knew how to post photos on this because I could show you how horrible our friend's bathroom really was. DCL has truly lost it's Magic!

This makes me :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
I dont sail until November 30, 2014. I hope they fix everything by then because I have paid a lot of money for Concierge and I wont understand.

I sail in May and I feel exactly the same way.

I would love to hear an update as well. I am booked in the Roy Suite April 2014 on the Magic and from what I am reading I am starting to be afraid. I wonder if I should switch to another ship with a different date? Thoughts??

Hey, I hear one of the Fantasy Royal suites just opened for xmas week this year.....That is if the $48,000+ price tag doesn't scare you off. :santa:

I wouldn't worry. Those suites were taken care of on the recent cruises. Unless new issues come up, you should be fine.

If that's the state of the concierge rooms, what can I expect on my measly 11b - we sail this Dec right after xmas (3n).

Last Feb, we cruised the Wonder - we could see the wear and tear, but was still in good shape.

I certainly hope it is nice for you guys. We stayed cl on the dream, and I know it is very pricey!

I hope so too. We sailed in the same suite for last May's EBTA that we will be sailing in again for this upcoming EBTA in May. The suite was in great shape, just normal wear and tear. It would truly suck to find that it's in worse shape post dry dock. :worried:

The media rooms were completed first, so you should be fine, as long as your room was set aside for the media. :rotfl:

We toured a concierge room. Their verandah was beautiful - it was sandblasted and repainted. Their bathroom? The tile was gross. Grey tile and dirty grout. Not 'reimagined.' I'll let them chime in about their experience on their own but if I paid concierge prices, I'd expect better.

Glad you got to see our room and I guess that's my cue to chime in! :-)

The suites had a bed change, some furniture change and artwork change. The bathrooms were not touched and they were very outdated and yes the tile and grout was gross.

We were also very disappointed in the new artwork and furniture. The furniture is not as functional and their is no disney touch to the artwork. Very generic, cheap, hotel type artwork.

We had room 8078 for the 11/27 cruise. All of the plumbing, lights etc worked.
