I splurged last month and stayed two nights at the Plaza in New York City. I alway thought that Disney had great service well this place made Disney look like a chain motel off the Interstate. Wow! Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The only down side was that food was very expensive. A PP&J sandwich via room service was over $12.00. Not the best use of points but what the heck the 4th of July fireworks were excellent and everyone had a good time.

We stayed there 2 years ago on our points. I would never have done it otherwise being as we live 45 mins from NYC. But it was so wonderful! I totally enjoyed the service and the atmosphere and the room was beautiful. It was a great splurge.I am glad you enjoyed it too.

That's terrific to hear another postive DVC experience at The Plaza. I like knowing that option is there to use points without having to travel very far. :)

We stayed there a week ago, and it was FANTASTIC.

The hotel is incredibly beautiful, the location is great, and the service is outstanding.

No room service for us, but we did indulge in some refreshments at the Oyster Bar.;) ;)

We leave for the Plaza on Thursday. A wonderful three night stay. We both cant wait.......... Nice to see so many have had great experiences there. :D

We did that 2 or 3 summers ago for my birthday. Went into NYC to see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and then used points to stay overnight at The Plaza. It was a lovely hotel, but I have to admit, I felt out of my element. It was a tad bit "stuffy", if you know what I mean. I prefer the casual elegance of the WDW hotels, where your surroundings are beautiful, but you're still comfortable.

I am sure we will feel out of our element at The Plaza.... part of the fun though....... :)

I did buy hubby some new shorts that dont have a draw string (if ya know what I mean) and a couple of Nice light weight collared shirts. But I have no problem with him wearing his Tevas! LOL I also told him he has to shave everyday! But I say that on every vacation. (He only shaves once a week or so at home.)

We are sooooooooooooooooooooo siked!

Laurabearz--Enjoy!

It is great to have the opportunity to splurge and use pointsto stay at a place you would never stay otherwise.

Last Thanksgiving we used points to stay at the Shelbourne Murray Hill in Manhattan the night before Thanksgiving. We went uptown to see the balloons being inflated--saw Kevin Bacon & his wife Kyra Sedgewick and their kids. We went to the parade the next day.

Room svce. was not necessary. We ordered food to be delivered from a local Deli. In NYC, every place delivers or has a "to-go" menu. There are plenty of places w/in walking distance of the Plaza to get food.

Have a great time!!
