Concierge/Club Level Information- Part IV, July 2012

I have a feeling the holiday season will be a bit more crowded this year than in the past.
We too are staying at the Poly, CL and have been trying to move one of our reservations to ANYTIME earlier in the same day at CRT with the help of the IPO and checking daily myself and there has not been a single reservation to be had for over 2 months.....
And that is for a Tuesday evening on which supposedly is one of the slowest weeks of the year (2nd week in December)....
Even with Be Our Guest opening, (which we got a quick and easy ressie through the Poly IPO, that we won't end up needing afterall) there still were no cancellations....
I thought for certain at least a couple of ressies would trade out CRT for BOG, but unfortunately I was wrong....

I just wanted to say keep trying and don't give up hope just yet . For our December 2010 trip I wanted dinner at 1900 Park Fare before MVMCP and found no availability for months. After getting very discouraged and trying every day, multiple times a day, the day/time I wanted suddenly popped up. I had to look at the screen to make sure I put in the right date, time, etc. because I was so used to seeing nothing for that day, let alone the time I wanted. So it is possible that you will be able to get CRT.....just keep trying .

Looks like regular policy is in place.

Boy, this sure makes me feel a lot better about spending good money for CL!
Now, if they will just stop making changes in the H2O toiletries!

No problem! You know how CM's can be with their information sometimes...I think it would be crazy for them to take away the CL amenities after check out...

AMEN on CMs who give wrong information...sometimes it seems we on the boards know more!

Also chiming in to say there has not been a reservation we couldn't get once we kept trying multiple times a day. In terms of the club staff (in this case IPO) not having any special pull, I agree, that is something that should be a club benefit, but isn't. If you ask, they will keep trying to get you a reservation, but for me, as long as there was one, even at a bad time, they considered that good enough. We got better times working it on our own.

I totally agree. "Back in the day" I felt like they could work their magic, but now I truly believe using the disney website is the best way to keep checking.

BBM I totally agree. I also found it helped to check 3 or 4 times a day if possible. I just leave the dining site minimized...it's quick to check.

This method got me a ressie at the time I wanted at Garden Grill.

I'm trying for GG, too. Used to be that I had my pick of times for that place, but there's nothing for my December trip!!

Hi there! A couple days ago I saw someone post on the DIS that when they stayed CL at a resort a while back, they handed out complimentary ponchos in the club lounge...at least I think that is what they said? I'm trying to find that post and am having no luck...is this true? Do they still do this?
My trip is coming in about 10 days and I'm anticipating at least some rain... Thanks!

They constantly restock the pop in the lounge fridge. However, later in the evening (after 10pm), you may find the fridge empty and no more pop will be put in until the next day. We always made sure we had a few cans stored in our room fridge just in case. Coffee is always available. There was also a good supply of fruit (apples, bananas) any time we went in. If you go in looking for a beer or glass of wine when the shutters are closed during the day, just knock on the door and the CM will get it for you.

I will add on that I have never experienced the fridge being empty. I know it is a possibility, I just never experienced it. They were usually restocking it between evening service and dessert.

We are heading back to the world on Oct 28th. We had a TPV at the CR all booked but last night switched to GVCL at the Poly. We have stayed at both resorts before but never CL. My DD7 was very upset because she loves watching wishes from the balcony.

How is it from the lounge or beach? Do I need to get there early to 'stake' a spot?

Also I heard they no longer have plastic water bottles anyone there recently know what's available?

My DDS 1.5 goes through tons of 3% milk is it available all day in the lounge?

Any other tips or advice would be great (including room requests!).

I haven't ever been given or seen ponchos in any of club lounges. Over the years we have stayed at Poly CL, GF SL CL, AKL CL and will be staying at Beach Club CL in a few days. It would be grand if they did give them out, however I would imagine we all would have heard about it or seen them if they do.
