Hi all! Has anyone stayed in a "Garden view" club level room at the YC? I've stayed in Lagoon view Club rooms there multiple times but I'm considering booking the Garden view room for May. We like being more down the hall, away from the lounge & elevators etc. So I'm wondering if this room's location would work for us or if I should just go with our usual Lagoon view. Anyone have any room numbers or locations they have been in? Thanks!!

We stayed in a great YC GV CL room in 2008. I don't remember the number but it was really close to the lounge and overlooked the wedding gazebo. In fact it had a nice sideway view of Crewcent Lake and the marina.

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know. :goodvibes

Even though it's a major deal for us since we don't make ADR's 180 days before and the fact we also never purchase Dining Plan, today we finally got our welcome e-mail from the Boardwalk Inn IPO. So the fact they sent it was good enough so it means they didn't forget about our reservation.

Our 180 day mark is in 17 days and I'm playing a game of chicken with IPO. They have 12 more days and then they win and I will contact them.

Hello,

We are staying at the Poly CL for the first time in 3 weeks and was wondering what the food offerings are throughout the day? I tried doing a search, but was not able find current information.

Also, are we able to bring the food and drinks back to our room? Especially water b/c we drink a lot of water.

Thanks!!

Information on the offerings is on the first page of the Poly FAQ.

You are able to bring stuff back to your room. I've heard the Poly now uses the same kind of water filtration system used at the GF so you will have to fill glasses to bring back to your room.

I don't really understand why everyone waits for the IPO to contact them. The two times we have stayed CL (AKL and Poly), I contacted the IPO as soon as I had made the reservation and heard right back from them. Don't be afraid to email them.

This thread will tell you everything you need to know about the Poly, and Post 10 tells you about CL, with a link to the menu offerings. If you want to double check on what's currently offered, just post at the end of the thread and ask. Someone will tell you, or point you in the right direction.

We stayed in December and found the offerings delicious and plentiful!

Yes, you can bring food and drinks to your room. And your room will be very close to the lounge, regardless of which floor you are on. Bottled water wasn't offered (but I have heard that MAYBE you can ask for large Evian bottles?), but there are cups with a cool water dispenser. (We bought a case of water for 5 of us from CVS and kept it in our in-room fridge.)

Hope this helps. Have a great trip. You're gonna love Poly CL.

I just like to see how long it will take them, if they even do it first at all.

We were there a few weeks ago and if you ask for water they will fill a carafe (without a top) with water to take to your room.

Good to know for August! I order cases of water for the parks but like to drink waterfron the lounge while at the resort. We like to conserve our resources. :rotfl:

I apologize if I missed this somewhere. We are doing a split stay next January Poly/Beach Club. I know where to find the food offerings for Poly but did not come across them for Beach Club. Can someone let me know where to find it if they have one? Thanks.

In case anyone is interested, I posted a little about the various food offerings in the Boardwalk Innkeeper's Club Lounge from our December 2011 trip here. Most details about breakfast and evening (5-7pm) offerings because that's what we took advantage of the most!

Thanks for the post! It was very informative. I really hope to stay at the BWI one day.

Hi Everyone! Been to WDW many many times, have stayed in practically every deluxe hotel, but NEVER once stayed Club, so this is a first. We've stayed club at Universal HR & RP, but never on Disney property. Taking my Mom (84yrs), Daughter & GS (6) in May, staying at Beach Club (never stayed there before, stayed at Boardwalk) and staying Club- Tell me all about it, for those who have stayed at both Universal Club & Disney, tell me if there is a diff? I kind of expect Disney to be way more than Universal (Although they are good)

Also I see something about emailing IPO(? no idea what that is) as soon as you have a confirmed reservation for Club, what is the deal with that? why? Also I saw something about a diff. check in for club? Not at all familar with the beach club, and I hate that, feel like I spend 1/2 vacation trying to figure out where I am and how to get where I want to go.... LOL

TELL ME ALL ABOUT Beach Club "Club" Thanks!!

I haven't stayed at the BC CL so I can't get specific, but I can answer some of your questions. We are going to be staying at the YC CL in March and I can't wait!

You should email the IPO (Itinerary Planning Office) to let them know if you want them to make any dining reservations for you. You should also tell them when you are arriving, so that they know when to expect you. The contact information is on page one of this thread, but the address for the BC IPO is Yacht.Beach.Club.Itinerary.Planning@disneyworld.com.

When we stayed CR CL in 2010 they tracked when our flight came in and were there to meet us when our Magic Express bus arrived.

Most dining reservations can be booked 180 days out, so if you email them before the 180 day mark they will arrange all your reservations for you and send you an itinerary with your dining confirmations.

Hope that helps!

I've never done club at Universal, but from what I've read, Disney is less than your average club level in terms of food offerings.

The advantage of Disney club level, IMO, is that it's Disney World. What I mean is more a comment on how we tour WDW. When we vacation some place other than WDW - like the beach - I'm happy to take a slower pace. At WDW, I'm much more interested in maximizing our time. Club level helps us get the most out of our time. It's similar to the way business travelers use their travel time. Like many dry cleaners will clean a man's dress shirt for $.99. A club level hotel might charge $5. It is worth five dollars to have them do it? For many travelers, no. They wash the shirt back home, or wash it while the kids nap. For the business traveler, Five dollars is a great deal - because the LOST TIME it would take him to deal with washing the shirt (missing a meeting) would 'cost' WAY more than five dollars in lost time.

When you stay club level - right away - except CR - you bypass the check in line. There's ten to fifteen minutes right there. Throughout your stay, you can avoid the resort lines, the quick serve food court lines, the walk from your room to the food court time, etc. Some folks don't see vaue in bypassing those lines. If you think time = money, or being pampered= good value, then club level at WDw might be for you. If you evaluate the cost of the food you get vs. what those foods cost at your local grocery store, then club level might not be for you. If you don't mind doing laundry and cooking on your Disney vacation, then club level might not be for you.

And your room will be very close to the lounge, regardless of which floor you are on.

I'm not sure I agree with this. Our room was not super close to the lounge, and our room was only about 3/4 the way down the hall.

To me, that was actually the biggest downside of club level at the Poly. If you you aren't on the same floor as the lounge, and especially if you have a stroller or ECV, it's a bit of a pain. Every resort has pros and cons- there was plenty to love about Poly CL - but here is one of Poly's weak points. In this category CR scores WAY higher. We were almost the furthest room once at CR, and we were still close to the lounge.

Also at Poly, if you want to got from your room to the Poly monorail platform- you have to maybe change floors in the CL building, then walk outside along an uncovered walkway, then go up a level in the main building, and walk across the main building to the opposite side. All told, the resort is more compact than CSR or CBR, but it's not super compact either.

Mostly I'm just comparing the layout/location of club rooms at Poly to other club level rooms at the other resorts we've tried so far. Our BC, CR, Were much closer. AK was on par with Poly. BWK was in between. Granted our BWK room was at the farthest end of the hall.

To me, the biggest highlight of the Poly lounge was the castle view. That's what i think of when I think of Poly CL- the view!;)

Whenever I have stayed Club Level at the Contemporary I always checked-in on the Atrium Club 12th floor, so I am not sure why you said they don't that over there. Just like the other Deluxe Resorts there is a Cast Member who meets you when you arrive and takes you up to your floor to check-in.

Also you don't get to avoid the lines like at the Contempo Cafe just because you are staying Club Level and that goes for any Quick Service location no matter what Deluxe Resort you are staying Club Level at.
