Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

You could be right about your ADR date opening up in January. This past August after we resered our December 2011 Boardwalk Inn Club Level reservation, a few days later we got our welcome letter from their IPO Cast Members and by that time we were well inside our 180 day mark.
I'll let you know if I ever hear anything from even one of the four IPOs:worship:

Guest services is the only place to get the TIW card at the parks, AFAIK.
That's what I figured - thanks.

DH wants to know if the CL CMs would put drinks in our fridge, like water, milk, & beer. Do they do that? Also, would they book Le Cirque tx for us too?
I read once that the Tower Club (14th floor) CL at the CR did this for a guest, so it's not unheard of. Just email the IPO with your confirmation number and ask them, but I'm pretty sure they can't (legally) place alcohol in your room for you. I'm not certain about the tix, but I would think they can do that, but I haven't personally done that.

As long as they have a CC on file, they'll book things for you. If you ahve something super special you wnat to plan for your family, they can often help w/ that too. :goodvibes They did for us once but then at a previous CL trip at another resort, they fell down entirely flat. They go shopping for people all the time for things special desired upon arrival. But I'd think though that while they may be OK w/ putting drinks in your fridge a few times, you may want to do that yourself. They are there to help but not personal servants as in something to be done for your daily. I'm sure if everyone started requesting it, they'd have to start saying no or more likely just point out that drinks are available for you to take from the lounge and leave that as their "hint".

That said though, when we stayed concierge level on the DCL ship, every time we requested something be in our fridge or delivered to our suite, it was. Promptly! That staff was above top notch! I've experienced less at the resorts, but then, they have far fewer people to worry about at any one time on a ship. :)

Looking for help with CL at the Polynesian. Considering upgrading to CL for our trip next month. I think I read that you can see the MK fireworks from the CL lounge. Is that true? If so, is it a small viewing area, or can lots of people see? Thanks!

Yes you can, but IMO, the lounge isn't huge (especially near the window) and can get crowded quickly. I'd go out on the beach right in front of the Hawaii building for a less crowded and lovely view. You'll hear the music piped there as well.

I have been so pleased with IPO at the Yacht Club. I booked our vacation over the phone, and about 4 days later, I was contacted by IPO. They made all of my dining reservations and sent a confirmation letter. They have made my planning so easy. They are also great about responding to emails quickly. We loved our stay at the GF, but their IPO never contacted us. This has been so nice.

OMG, I'm having the opposite problem with GF IPO -- they're contacting me *constantly*. It's seriously ridiculous; I think there must be a computer glitch. Anyway, glad to hear good things about YC, as I'm actually toying with changing our February stay from GF to YC (I have issues with resort changing :rolleyes1).

Thank you! I did go ahead and upgrade to a CL room at the Polynesian. The lounge is such a big bonus for us.

It's funny what people say about the IPO for the different resorts. We usually stay CL at the GL and always hear from their IPO office. However, I booked the BC CL for January last Sept., never heard from them so I and finally emailed them last week. I got an answer to my question, but no offer to help with anything. Maybe they thought I had already been contacted? I always make my own dining reservations, so it's fine, but I am surprised not to have been contacted. We are doing a split stay, spending the first few nights at the Polynesian. I just upgraded to CL this past Monday, it will be interesting to see if I hear from them.

I am so excited! Several months ago we had planned to go back to disney this summer, but decided to cancel since the trip we wanted to take (AKL club/CR club) was just too pricey. Well, when the discount code was released earlier this week, of course I started playing w/numbers again. We decided the discount was good enough and so we rebooked! We had to change resorts, though--the CR is not included in the room discount :( and AKL was only 20% off.

Anyway, this time we are going to do a 4/4 split--we're going to start at a pirate room at CB, and then move to club level at the Boardwalk. I am so excited!! Dh and I really love the idea of being right by Epcot as it's our favorite park.

Finally, something awesome to look forward to!!

So I just booked me and DH's 1 year DFTW anniversary night! At GF CL! I stayed there for our wedding night, but everything was so chaotic, that I didn't get to enjoy the room any. So this is the first time to enjoy CL! Any tips for the GF CL or anything I should know?

Thanks!

I think you will love the GF if you decide to keep your reservation. We had the best time and the service was wonderful. We are trying the YC because of the construction. We will be there in May, and I am just not sure how much of an impact the construction will have on the GF at that point. I just felt like we should maybe try something new since the discounts for the GF do not seem to reflect the construction nearby.
Anyway, we really did love our stay and I would recommend it to anyone. After the overstimulation of the parks, the GF was really like a calm oasis. It was kind of two vacations in one. Have a great time!

Aww, thanks for this. :goodvibes We actually did decide to stay with GF. My husband just really loves the convenience of the monorail resorts since we spend most of our time at MK. I'm sure we'll love GF... In fact, I'm kind of afraid we will. I need to fall in love with some cheaper resorts!! :rotfl:

Just booked AKL CL w/a PIN code!! We are staying for 10 days! I am so excited!
I put in a request for a room on zebra trail close to mid elevators. We plan on doing the sunrise safari as well.

YAY for the upgrade :cool1: I did get emails from both BC and GF IPOs after booking. BUT I have to say GFs email was almost immediately after booking! When I booked Poly for our November trip, they were very good as well. They even ordered my cake for DH, then made sure it would be sent to GF when I changed  I love the CL lounges, I can't complain about any of the CL we have stayed at truthfully....:cloud9: I can't wait to hear about your trip!!!!

Enjoy!!! I love it there!!! Will you be in the Main Building or Sugarloaf?

Congrats!!!! AKL is such a beautiful resort!

Resort changing....hmmm.....never heard of that  I have no complaints about our YC stay....BUT I loved our GF stay sooooooooooo much more. That's just personal preference. We were treated so well at Sugarloaf, and we made many friends in the CL lounge both CMs and guests. It was a wonderful experience.:goodvibes

We booked CL at the BWI last week and I still haven't heard anything from the IPO. Is this normal? We don't need anything yet, so no rush or big deal, but I'm wondering if we have fallen through the cracks. Thanks!

Hi there!

We will be at the Polynesian and the Wilderness Lodge Club Level in a little over one week for our wedding/honeymoon!!! :cool1:

This will be our first stay at these resorts and our first club level experience!!!

Any advice or things we make sure we do at these hotels for our first club level experience??? We already made all of our ADR's.

Thanks!!!:goodvibes

They usually contact you a few days before your inside the 180 day mark of making ADR's. This past August after making our December 2011 BWI CL reservation their IPO department sent us an e-mail 2 or 3 days after reserving it and I think it's because we were well inside our 180 day mark.

Now if you want to you can send them e-mail right now introducing yourself and etc.

It's funny--I received the email late this morning, not long after I posted this question. ;) But I do have another question--I posted a thread about it but I'll ask here too. Do you (or anyone else!) know if the BWI IPO will make dining reservations for us for the days we are at CBR? We're doing a split stay and starting at CBR, so will need dining reservations for that time too, but I don't know if it's ok to ask the BWI IPO to make those along with the ones during our stay there.

Thanks in advance!
