Well hopefully you will get what you reserved and let's assume by you reserving it today that the Atrium Club just re-opened or will be re-opening for your specifc dates.
They're going to have a pretty angry lawyer on their hands if they can't honor my reservation. If means some fantastic upgrade, I might be okay with it.

I noticed there is availability for Atrium Club now for late August which was not available on Friday...wonder what's up with the whole construction thing. Postponed? Any ideas????

I received an email from GF IPO, just an update that they have my requests (despite all my resort changing). Just goes to show they do hang on to info. Almost surreal that I will be there soon..

Hi Everyone-

I wanted to ask a question.

This november is our 1st disney trip and we booked a YC CL standard room with deluxe dining. because we got a pin for 40% off so we took it. I am now worried about the standard room.

My question is if I stay in a standard room is there a request that I should ask for that will ensure a better room? Also, since I can't change my reservation now without canceling the entire reservation, is there a way to see if I can upgrade to a deluxe or waterview during check in? if so, what is the upgrade cost per night to do this?

thanks for the information in advance

Amy

I just noticed that the an Atrium Club room opened up for the dates we are going to Disney. We are currently booked at the Beach Club, Garden View. Is it worth the money to move to the CR Atrium Club or should we just stick with what we have? I am driving myself crazy and we still have 3 weeks until we go.

I have had many Atrium Club Level stays in the past which were very good, so I would always recommend staying there if you can get a reservation.

I can't help with the request for the best room, but you shouldn't have to cancel your entire reservation if you upgrade room categories now. If available under your pin, you should be able to upgrade now to a deluxe or water view without cancelling the entire reservation. Are there restrictions with your pin that would require a cancellation in order to make changes? I've had pins before and have always made changes without having to cancel. We are booked for December with a 40% pin and I have changed my resort 4 times since I made the reservation back in February without any problem. I think if you try to upgrade at check in you will pay rack rate. Hopefully someone can verify that or correct me if I'm wrong.

the person on the phone said it was one of those one time deals that pops up when you are booking and you have to take it or leave it as far as what is included...if you want to change to a different category then you have to cancel and rebook but there is no guarantee that you would get the same rate. I don't have a lot of experience booking rooms with disney so I could be wrong but I tried to call tonight and they said no

If you want to upgrade do it now. You won't lose your pin discount. Its possible there won't be a water view availabe with your pin, but if there is you can certainely upgrade. I would not try to upgrade at check in you will pay rack rate. Sorry just read your pp I would call and ask for guest services. They were able to change my res with an expired pin back in May. Good luck

I have seen posts where people have gotten email deals where there were certain restrictions like having to pay in full at time of booking, no changes were allowed, etc., so I thought maybe your pin might be along those lines as well. You could try calling back and if you're told no again, ask to speak to someone in Guest Services to see if they might be able to help you. If not, hopefully someone will be able to give you some suggestions for room requests to make you feel a little better about standard CL :).

You have a club level room with the Deluxe Dining Plan (DDP)? That will be so much food to eat.

We stayed at the YC on our last trip and loved it. I am almost certain all the rooms have full balconies. If you want a bigger room then you'd have to change to a deluxe room or a suite. They should be able to check on those room types and let you know if your pin will still get you the discount based on availability. I used a pin code for a BC CL trip this Dec and they checked into other room types and resorts for me using the pin code (even though it's expired). As long as you "modify" your reservation and not ADD a new one, you should be ok. I tried to change to a split stay and they said NO that requires a new reservation. ok fine.
But they did give me prices for the Poly, WL and GF using the pin code for a complete resort change using the same reservation number.
They also gave me the option of dropping CL to standard room and adding the Dining Plan.

That is a TON of food (CL and DDP).
I see that this is your first disneyworld trip.
I've been 10 or so times and I have to say THAT IS A TON OF FOOD!

I'm not big on paying the huge increase they ask for just for a better view.
We never sit in our room or balcony and just enjoy the view. Maui YES but at WDW we'd rather be out and about.
(Although, if we were in the tower at the Contemporary Resort overlooking the MK, yes we'd sit out on the balcony, just sayin')

So what you may want to do is change to the regular Dining Plan and ask for the deluxe room.
But those rooms are on the 4th floor (lounge on 5th) and you'd have to take the elevator every time you headed to the lounge.

If the club room is important to you (it's great for early breakfast and late night drink and snack) then just stay where you are.
But I'm telling you, the DDP is A TON OF FOOD and we do nice ADRs for every trip.

If you booked all your ressies yourself (or emailed the IPO direct) do you need to fill out the questionare they email you? We are doing a split stay so we don't have any airline info. or anything. I just didn't know if it was necessary since I don't have much to put on it!

I have a question about CR club level. We are booked there for three nights next July. I checked the website myself for room rates and availability, and when I did, there was a room category "Tower Club - Magic Kingdom View." We booked through a TA; this is what the reservation says we have and my TA confirmed it. However, I've been curious so have been messing around on the website since we booked that room category, and it is GONE. Not only does it never show up as a room you can book (I have tried a zillion dates), I can't even find the Tower Club listed as a room type in the Room Rates and Prices section of the CR.

I'm just totally confused! Are they combining Tower and Atrium club or something? Or rehabbing the Tower Club next year (if so, do you think we'd just be on the 12th floor instead? I don't really care which floor; just want my MK view). Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Did you book a suite?

I've never filled a questionare out.
But if you are using Magical Express you will want to add the flight numbers to your reservatiion info.

Sorry this ended up as a double post.

I just emailed our TA because I am really wondering about this. I'll let you know what she says. I am just slightly troubled that the room I booked doesn't appear to be a room you can book anymore!

The renovations happening right now are only on the 14th floor, so the the rooms on the 12th floor are not being effected. It is weird that you can't find your room category listed and it's not even on Mousesavers. Personally I think if you can somehow reserve their Club Level rooms on the Atrium Club floor it would be better and they were always less expensive then the Standard Rooms on the Tower Club floor.

This morning we made the jump and switch from BC-CL to Magic Kingdom View Atrium Club. There is a room discount right now and it made it cheaper for us overall. I am very excited and know my DD will love the view.

Question for experienced CR-Atrium Club stayers, I have been reading some reports on other sites that the CM do not greet you in the lobby and it is often a hassle to get checked in. Where these just isolated issues or is it different at the CR and we have to go through the usual front desk check in. Just wanted to be prepared.

Everytime my family and I stayed on the Atrium Club floor we were always meet by a Cast Member who then took us up there so we could check-in.
