I'm doing a happy dance as we are booked for October 2011 at the Polynesian in Garden View Club Level! :goodvibes (we received the 40% off PIN :cloud9: but god was it a hassel to claim it - email didn't have a PIN, was accused of lying by a Guest Services CM, and I was eventually able to get the PIN via another CM who looked up an old address we had on file).

He did offer her something that he said was Kahlua-like. I don't remember the name/brand.

Urp...generic Kahlua? :sad2:

Seriously, what in the world could they have back there that's "Kahlua-like" and so much cheaper than the real thing? Are they making their own out of the previous day's CL dessert leftovers, or :confused3?

I mean, the stuff's not priced like Louis 13, fer cryin' out loud!

Yea for your happy dance! Have fun planning!

:dance3: Also dancing with a 40% off pin for BWI CL. :dance3:

lovesdumbo - I can't thank you enough for all the work you did!!!

Also, I have read and used all the information everyone else gave me.

Wow, who would have thought this would be stressful.

I did the what any confused person would do, I booked both the sunrise safari and Keys to the Kingdom along with Wishes Dessert the same day (it's DH's favorite). I will let him know as it gets closer, he can do both or cancel if he feels like sleeping it etc.

IPO said that requesting the handicap room would not change the area, view, etc. so I am taking them on their word.

I LOOK 20 times a day for a cancellation at CG - Right now it is either 9:20pm or later. If I was a bit younger I wouldn't blink an eye, but with all my meds, it just doesn't work now.

I have booked Jiko right now for my birthday night. Hoping it was a good decision - BUT if we get a walk-up at LeCellier a few days earlier, I will have to change that reservation to a 1 credit, but I will cross that bridge when it happens.

Since I really don't drink, are there any that can be recommended. I usually just take a splash of Kahlua (well real Kahlua guess I have been out of the game so long I didn't know alcohol had generics!) and put a little ice and milk. White Russian?? SO any ideas with the other cordials?? Oh I have also had a Grand Marnier Slushie last year, well two sips after DH, and DD got their share:rotfl2:.

So I am down to 20 days!! I have never been so excited!!

It may have been an alternate Bailey's, not Kahula, now that I think about it. Again, I just about never have mixed drinks (sans the occasional margarita) so I'm not an expert on liquors at all. I don't think it was generic so much as an alternate, lesser-known label with a similar flavor profile.

I know they didn't have Kahula, specifically, because someone was complaining about it, and mentioning it by name, but I don't know if it was the whole time or that one night, a full-time change or just a temporary shortage.

In August at Poly I asked if they had Baileys and he offered something that was Baileys-like. It tasted pretty good on the rocks to my unsophistocated pallet but I drink Irish Cream type drinks only a couple times per year.

In Sept 2009 at the AKL CL I had something that tasted close to Kahlua/bailey's ....I believe it was called Amarillo? (I can't remember the brand, but it was an offshoot of Kahlua/bailey's type creme liquor)
In any event, I am a bailey's/Kahlua lover and this stuff tasted fine....I couldn't really taste a difference! So....mix'er up and
ENJOY! :thumbsup2

Probably was Amurula (sp?) which comes from a tree in Africa.

Last month during our Club Level stay at the Boardwalk Inn we asked exactly how many Deluxe Rooms they had, because we mentioned how we looked online each day for our dates and none became available. I believe we were told there is only 8 in total, because they have 5 on the 4th floor and 3 on the 3rd floor. So is 8 the correct number?

I have stayed at the YC CL and Loved it! I just booked BC CL and I was wondering if the BC CL was smaller or bigger than the YC CL. Can anyone help me with this info?

Thanks!
Lynne

Just wondering what kind of "gifts" or "tips" people bring for the concierge staff? My family really enjoyed the staff last year at BWI and would like to bring then a thank you token this trip......what is appropriate?:confused3

I brought things one could only get in Memphis---several bottles of Corky's BBQ sauce, individual chocolates decorated with Memphis scenes, small bottles of hand lotions made here....put them in 2 baskets and gave them to the wonderful cast members so they could share and divide any way they wanted.

CR Fan, I thought it was even less than that- like 6

That being said, if anyone can snag one, I HIGHLY recommend them :thumbsup2 If was WAY bigger than, say, the lodge tower room at the GF.

I thought there were 10 or 12? :confused3 I seem to remember a post last year saying there were an equal number on the 3rd and 4th floors, I've got 10 or 12 in my head?

What do they offer at BC CL?:) We are booked for our 1st stay there!:thumbsup2

Here's what I remember from our stay last summer:

Breakfast: bagels, croissants, bread for toast, pastries, specialty breads, mini muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cut up fruit, whole fruit, cereal, juices, coffee, tea etc.

Snacks: yogurt covered pretzels, delicious home made chips and dip, gummy works or sharks, cookies, soda, lemonade, coffee, tea, etc.

Evening appetizers: cheese and crackers, vegetable and dip, peanut butter and jelly cups, small soft rolls, rye bread with tomato pesto dip, 2 hot appetizers (such as: bacon wrapped scallops, crab ragoons, chicken skewers, duck quesedillas, pot stickers) cold salad such as lobster salad and cole risotto salad. Assorted soft drinks, wine, beer and cordials.

Desserts: usually three or more assorted mini desserts and cookies. Assorted soft drinks and cordials.

If you look on the YC/BC thread there are some pictures of the cl offerings.

We love BC CL - so much that we're booked again in July. This will be our 4th BC CL stay!
